Users should proceed as follows: First, download and install the QuickTime Player. Launch QuickTime Player and open the Preferences menu. Deselect Automatic Updates then close the application. Once installed, launch the PowerPoint Viewer and validate the Microsoft User Agreement. If the PowerPoint viewer fails to launch, search Navori Knowledge Database for solutions. Users can also download and install the Combined Codec Pack which supports most popular CODECs including MPEG-2, DivX and FLV. For a complete list of supported formats, please visit the CCCP web site. Navori provides this information purely as a service to its customers. Navori does not endorse, support nor guarantee any specific CODEC. Customers may use any CODEC compatible with Windows Media Player at their own discretion. You have 3 options at this point. Option 1: LAN LAN should be selected if you are setting up LAN (Anonymous or Authenticated) communication. This is the default setting. You will need to select the location of the Publication Folder as you configured it when you installed Navori Server. Browse to this server and select it and then enter the Player ID. This is the same ID you would have entered in the Navori Server Player Properties. By default, Navori Server installs with 5 Players predefined. Their IDs are A, B, C, D and E so you can pick either one of these to get started or configure your own. Note that each Player must use its own unique ID. Users who are using an open connection can simply select LAN and fill in the fields below. Users who are installing on a secure LAN where specific user accounts are needed to access shared resources should select LAN Authentication. You will need to define a unique Windows or Active Directory User account for each Player. You will need the User Accounts Name and Password information for each Player and this information must also be configured in Navori Server. Refer to the Navori Server help files for more information on how to configure Players for LAN Authentication.

Option 2: FTP Users who have set up their FTP Server and have accounts set up for each Player should select FTP. You must enter the FTP Servers DNS or IP address. You then enter the Player ID (FTP User Account login) and Password in each respective field. Note that each Player must use its own distinct ID. Once you have selected either LAN or FTP Communication, you may click the Test Connection to confirm your settings. You will see the following notice once the test is completed:

6
Option 3: Not connected yet If you plan to use LAN Authenticated or simply have not yet configured your Navori Server then you may select Not connected yet. This will let you complete the Player installation and you will be able to configure the communication some other time. Click OK to confirm. You will then be presented with the following window:

Selecting Yes will place a shortcut in your Navori Player PCs Startup folder ensuring the Player will automatically launch next time Windows is started. If you select No then you will have to launch Navori Player manually every time. Once you make your selection, the screen will blank momentarily and the Navori installer will install the Flash Player. You will then be presented with this window: Congratulations! Your software is now successfully installed.

7 Troubleshooting
Player cannot connect via FTP connection o o Confirm the FTP port is open (not blocked by a firewall). Confirm the FTP account was properly configured (see Navori Server On-Line Help).

Player cannot connect via LAN connection (Anonymous login) o o Confirm the Player has full access to the Publication Folder on the LAN. Confirm Player has sufficient rights (read, write, delete) for all 3 folders in the Publication Folder.

Player cannot connect via LAN connection (Authenticated login) o Confirm the Player account used for LAN Authentication is properly mapped to the Publication Folder on the LAN. Confirm Players LAN account has sufficient rights (read, write, delete) for all 3 folders in the Publication Folder. Confirm each Player account is unique and the same information used for the Windows or Active Directory User login is also used for the Navori Player configuration.

In all cases above test after each configuration change by re-sending an update via Navori Server and then hit F8 on the Player to monitor the downloading of data. Note any errors that may appear in the Monitor window as this information will be necessary if you require on-line support. Player cannot play some of your content o Confirm the Player has all necessary Player modules and CODECs installed as per the table on page 2. If you are attempting to display Live TV, ensure Player PC has a DirectX compatible Analogue TV Tuner card installed. Test to see if content will play outside Navori Player.
