Description
This Teacher Support Material is designed to equip the pupils with the skills needed to make the learning of verbs meaningful and an enriching experience. There are twelve practice activities in this workbooklet. Furthermore, these activities are aimed to supplement the lesson on verbs presented in their basic texbook to promote permanent learning. This material also comes with a teaching guide. However, the teacher is free to add, subtract or modify the suggestion given to suit the abilities and needs of his/her particular class. The same is true with the activities presented.

Objectives
After performing the activities, the pupils are expected to: use present form of the verb with singular/plural nouns as subjects use the simple past of the verbs commonly used.
Preparation
Pupils should possess the skills in identifying verbs as prerequisite skill before the use of this material.
Procedure
Activity No1 - Action Words 1. Let pupils work individually. 2. Ask pupils to look at the picture and then join a line to the verb that goes with the picture. 3. Conduct the checking of pupils work. Who Does the Action 1. Let the pupils read the sentences. 2. Then, let them answer the questions about the sentences. 3. Discuss with them about the subject used in each sentence. Activity No. 2 - Read and Connect Remember
The simple form of the verb shows present action. Use it when the subject is two or more persons or things. Use it with the pronouns I, we, you and they. Do not use it with he, she and it.
1. Have the pupils read and follow the directions carefully. 2. Have an individual check up of their work. Activity No. 3 & Activity No. 4 1. Ask the pupils to read and follow the directions carefully. 2. After the activity, conduct the checking of pupils answers. Provide them with an answer key on the board. The Simple Form of the Verb 1. The S- Form
What is the last letter of each verb? Verb + s is called the -s form.

We use the present tense when talking about habitual actions. Two words that signal a habitual action are always and every.

What is the action word in each sentence? These action words tell about past actions. They tell what little Jose Rizal did in the past. How does each verb end?
Remember
The past tense of the verb names an action that already happened. Most verbs add -ed to form the past tense but if a verb ends in e, it just adds -d to the simple form of the verb to form its past tense.
