GUIDE FOR STUDENTS PREPARING FOR SAT, LCAT, IBA

Who are you? I secured the First Position in the IBA Entrance Test and scored above 2200 in the SAT. I have taught students for the LCAT, IBA and SAT since 2011. You must have taken tuitions from Anees Hussains or some other top-notch institute, right? Like other parents, mine want me to succeed and given Anees Hussains reputation insisted that I join it. After consulting my seniors, I realized that Anees Hussains focused on shortcuts, not concepts and could never help me stand out from the crowd. I prepared for the tests on my own. How did you prepare then, and how can I replicate that? There are no standardized questions on the IBA test. Questions on Math as well as English can come in any format, so preparing for a particular type of question and learning shortcuts will only go so far. Getting a handle on the concepts, on the other hand, will allow you to effectively deal with any question IBA throws at you. Same goes for any other aptitude test. But I have a life! I cant study all day! Focus on studying the right thing and you wont have to. I myself enjoy playing tennis and football regularly and find the time for my favorite shows: Dexter, Breaking Bad, Suits and Hannibal.

A WORD ON STUDYING MATHEMATICS FOR APTITUDE TESTS
My own style of studying as well as teaching when it comes to Mathematics is focusing on concepts.

Understand the concept, look over some worked examples and start practicing.
This is the simplest way to study for any topic.

If you stick to your concepts, your basics, you will not be thrown off by any new type of question from the same topic. Over-reliance on formulae for every specific type of question is not a good idea. It is something I would recommend against.
