Presents

The Summer Student Leadership Initiative

Or
The things you need to know about interpreting that they don’t teach you in school…

If you are preparing to enter an interpreter training program, are enrolled in an

interpreter training program or have just graduated, this two day training is for you!
Topics covered in this event include:
 The history of interpreting - how our history will impact your future
 Your belief system - how awareness of your beliefs, values and assumptions can influence
your career
 Personal accountability - tools for becoming a professional of integrity
 Self esteem & fear - developing one, getting rid of the other
 Conflict management - techniques for creating powerful relationships in the face of conflict
 Intimidation - moving beyond it when working with seasoned professionals
These topics will be explored in a comfortable, safe and hands-on manner at the Leadership
Institute’s new presentation facility - Energy Events - located in Louisville, Colorado.
(Hotel information located on page 2 of this flyer.)

Northern Colorado and Regis University, and coordinating and facilitating “Leadership and Visioning
Retreats” for various groups. She has presented locally and nationally on a variety of leadership topics and
is the recipient of several awards highlighting her leadership achievements. Amie is in currently in service
to RID members as the RID Region IV Representative. Amie holds a Master's degree in Communication
