PROCEDURE FOR CHECKING ON ISOME DWG 1.

General 1-1 Propose This manual is intended to explain the unified procedure for checking on ISOME DWG, made based on the TECs procedure for making such drawing, to be used in prefabrication work of each job, so that the checking can be done efficiently and the quality of piping design can be maintained. 1-2 Scope of application (1) This manual is to be applied to ISOME DWG made by TEC itself or by design contractors, in jobs for which TEC was awarded. (2) This manual is to be applied, when the checking is done within TEC, and also when the checking work is entrusted to any outside contractor. Furthermore, this manual should be used, as a rule, as a basis for checking work, when design contractors perform checking by themselves. 1-3 Drawings to be checked (1) Hand-drawn ISOME DWG (2) COMPIPE systems ISOME DWG 1-4 Restrictions on color pencil to be used in checking work Red-color : To be used when entering descriptions of revision or addition. Green-color : To be used for clarifying deleted part. Yellow-color : To be used for clarifying parts where there is no problem and regions where checking was finished. Lead Pencil : To be used for entering descriptions of comment or memory directly into the drawing. Any color may be used, if such description is made on a tag to be affixed to the drawing. 1-5 Execution of verification on results of checking The matters of revision or addition made during the checking work shall undergo a reconfirmation, which shall be made by personnels other than those who performed checking, for the purpose of checking to see whether or not there is any error, so that the quality of the piping design be maintained.

2. Documents Required for Checking on ISOME DWG 2-1 Drawings as the object of collation for checking shall be as follows, as a rule. (1) P&ID (including battery limit area and area of TECs responsibility, shown on Vendors P&ID of UNIT) (2) LINE LIST (for reference) (3) PIPING DWG (only in case of hand-drawn design or 2D-CAD, i.e. excluding the case of 3D-CAD) (4) H-103 (5) Instruction for making ISOME DWG and TAKE-OFF PROCEDURE. (6) Others (matters indicated specially by originator) 2-2 Grade of drawing as the object of collation for checking The time when checking on ISOME DWG is done, is the last stage of the design. Therefore, if the materials as the object of collation for checking are not those of final stage, it would be difficult to maintain the quality of design. So, at the time of checking, confirmation in this regard shall be made, without fail, in asking the request-originator. (1) P&ID (2) Vendors P&ID of UNIT (3) PIPING DWG (4) Other materials : AFC --- moreover, confirmation of whether or not any issue of ERI has been made. : FINAL : AFC --- moreover, confirmation of whether or not any issue of CHANGE SHEET has been made. : FINAL

2-3 Handling of matters under HOLD (1) If the ISOME DWG was made based on a PIPING DWG having a part under HOLD, make confirmation on OK-or-NOT of cancellation of the HOLD, in asking the originator.

3 Procedure of Checking in Collating ISOME DWG and P&ID 3-1 Propose The purpose of this checking is to make a final verification, to see, by use of ISOME DWG which are the final drawing of piping design, whether the piping design has been done in accordance with the requirements of P&ID. Therefore, the checking shall be made mainly on items related to P&ID, and the entered dimensions and the column of materials on the ISOME DWG will not be included in the object of checking. 3-2 Check items on ISOME DWG The check items shall be as shown in the attached Table 1, Check items on P&ID and ISOME DWG". 3-3 Stance of check on ISOME DWG as fixed The checking shall be done, in having ISOME DWG as fixed. The purpose of this is, to enable making, at the same time, of original correction-document, as a means for informing (as feed back) the results of design to P&ID (making of AS-BUILT), and to enable a final verification, on P&ID, of the results of piping design. Therefore, in regard to Par. (1) shown below, any part where differences from P&ID were found shall be made clear on P&ID, by a description-in-red of correction. (1) Items among the results of collation checking, to be informed as feed back to P&ID * Order-number of branch lines * Order-number of thermometer- and sampling nozzles, in relation to those of branch lines * Order-number of in-line instruments, valves, and other kind of piping accessories, in relation to those of branch lines. * Installation position of drain valves and vent valves * PIPING SPEC BREAK * Others -- for details, see Table 1. (2) Items among the results of collation checking, not needed to be informed as feed back to P&ID If any part among the results of checking, in regard to the items shown below, revealed that the mistake is clearly on the side of ISOME DWG, such part need not be made clear on P&ID by description in red, but shall be made clear on ISOME DWG, by a description-in-red of correction. * Line size, symbol of fluid, line No., PIPING SPEC, symbol of insulation, flow direction * Equipment item No., instrumentation tag No., special parts No. * Type of valve * Others -- for details, see Table 1. (3) Provision of comments to P&ID, as a result of checking If any part on P&ID was found to be unpardonable or was unclear so that a confirmation is needed, such part shall be made clear, by comments described on a tag, which shall be affixed to that part of P&ID. The confirmation shall be made, not individually, but, be made when number of such needs have accumulated considerably, or at a time appropriate for differentiation of work stage, in making explanation to the originator, so that any point of question be solved. The originator shall make confirmation on any part, for which he cannot make judgment, in asking the assigned process engineer. (4) Checking on process requirements of P&ID Fundamentally, this checking should have been finished before completion of PIPING DWG. So, the checking shall be made only on items which can be checked on ISOME DWG, i.e. checking need not be made on such items that can be checked only in going back to the PIPING DESIGN. Moreover, when checking is done, it is necessary to confirm the items of process requirement on each P&ID, and to have all items on which checking is finished, colored with yellow, without fail. Any item on which checking could not be done, shall be made clear, by a description of not-yetchecked, which shall be made with lead pencil. (5) Procedure for verification of finished checking in collation of P&ID and ISOME DWG All of the parts and description items in which no problem was found during the collation checking, shall be made clear on both of P&ID and ISOME DWG, by coloring of yellow, as a means for verification of finished checking. Any part, in regard to the items shown below, not given such coloring will become object of not-yetchecked. * Line size, symbol of fluid, line No., PIPING SPEC, symbol of insulation, flow direction * Equipment item No., instrumentation tag No., special parts No. * Line, valves, drain valves, vent valves, etc.

* Others -- for details, see Table 1. (6) Entering of index data, as a result of collation checking, into P&ID and ISOME DWG Among the results of checking, index data to be used for convenience of re-checking, which may be made later, shall be entered, as shown below. * On P&ID, make markings to show the range of description of each ISOME DWG, and enter the corresponding ISOME DWG NO., by means of lead pencil. Moreover, confirm, by use of this marking, whether there was no omission in making DWG. * If P&ID NO. has not been entered in ISOME DWG, enter the P&ID NO. into the column for entering P&ID. If there is no such column, enter it temporarily at the lower right corner (7) Integration among results of checking on P&ID If two or more copies of P&ID were used, the results of checking shall be brought together on one of such copies. In this case, make confirmation to see whether there was no omission in the checking on ISOME DWG.

4. Procedure of Checking in Collating PIPING DWG and P&ID 4-1 Propose (1) The purpose of this checking is to see whether each piping line shown on PIPING DWG is in agreement with the piping line drawn on ISOME DWG. Moreover, on ISOME DWG, checking shall be done, to see whether all of the data of each piping line, which are necessary for prefabrication, are included. Therefore, checking on piping design and checking of interference, etc. are not to be carried out at the time of collation checking on ISOME DWG, as a rule, because, if carried out at the same time, it may cause such result that it is difficult to maintain the quality of ISOME DWG and also to set up checking schedule. They are to be carried out on another chance. However, if any part of PIPING DWG revealed, at the time of checking, that the design is unpardonable, such part shall become object of confirmation. (2) When checking is done on PIPING DWG, ISOME DWG, and P&ID, at the same time, the PIPING DWG shall be handled as fixed, and, due feed back shall be made to P&ID. The procedure of checking on P&ID, shall be the same as that explained in Par. 3. 4-2 Items to be checked on ISOME DWG The items to be checked shall be as shown in the attached Table 2 Check items on P&ID and ISOME DWG". 4-3 Procedure of checking (1) When checking is to be done in collating PIPING DWG and ISOME DWG, handle the PIPING DWG as fixed. However, if any part, in regard to the items shown in (2) below, requires correction, the correction shall be made, as far as only partial correction is necessary, by making description-in-red on the PIPING DWG, so that an original correction-document be made. Moreover, any correction which leads to a change of routing or has an effect on other piping, shall be informed to the request-originator, at an early stage, so that countermeasures can be made by him. Countermeasures shall not be made by own judgment. (2) Items among the results of collation checking, to be informed as feed back to PIPING DWG * Parts where the minimum spool length is not secured (length between weld joints, and length of pull-out allowance for bolt) * Parts where dimension is not sufficiently shown on PIPING DWG * Parts where it was found that PIPING DWG is clearly unpardonable (3) Procedure for verification of finished checking on PIPING DWG and ISOME DWG All of the parts and description items to be checked, in which no problem was found during the collation checking, shall be made clear on both of P&ID and ISOME DWG, by coloring of yellow, as a means for verification of finished checking. Any part not given such coloring will become object of notyet-checked. 4-4 Checking on column for materials of ISOME DWG (1) Whether or not to apply checking on the column for materials according to the procedure for making ISOME DWG ISOME DWG for which checking on column for materials is necessary

* Hand-drawn ISOME DWG * COMPIPEs ISOME DWG prepared by hand coding ISOME DWG for which checking on column for materials is not necessary * 3D-CAD systems output ISOME DWG (2) The method for indication of the column for materials may be different depending on the condition of job, so, the checking shall be performed in accordance with the instructions for making drawing" or TAKE OFF PROCEDURE" made for each job. (3) Checking on the column for materials shall be done, in confirming that it is wholly in agreement with the piping materials drawn in the ISOME DWG (commodities purchased by Piping Design Dept). Moreover, the procedure shall be such that the checking on the column for materials is done after the completion of checking on ISOME DWG, so that, in case where any correction was made, checking shall be performed in accordance with the corrected drawing. (4) Verification of finished checking All of the parts in regard to the items to be checked, in which no problem was found, shall be made clear, by coloring of yellow, and any wrong part shall be corrected by a description-in-red. 4-5 Checking on the title part and LINE LIST (1) Checking shall be performed on line No., PIPING SPEC, P&ID NO., of the title part. (2) Collation checking shall be performed on line No. and DWG NO., of ISOME DWG and LINE LIST, and, confirmation shall be made to see whether there is no omission in making ISOME DWG. The part where there is no problem shall be made clear by coloring of yellow, and, any wrong part shall be corrected by a description-in-red.
