Onions CA,WA New Mexico and California are in full swing and markets are steady. Washington and Idaho have begun. Good quality and volume is being reported. Oregon will be starting soon. The Apple season continues with lower than average supplies especially on smaller fruit. Quality is good. Markets are stable but strong as Mexico is finished. Sizing is running large. Quality and demand are good. The supply has stabilized in the various growing regions. Quality is good. Markets are up as supplies are starting to dwindle. Guatemalan quality is starting to suffer.

The strawberry market continues to be active as demand exceeds supply. Strawberry plants are in their late summer stage, producing weaker quality fruit. This will continue until the fall crop starts up in the next few weeks in Santa Maria. Multiple quality issues are being noted. We recommend keeping inventories tight. Quality is good. Supplies are better on larger sizes. All sizes and grades are limited and markets continue to climb as demand exceeds supply. Quality is fair at best. Light volumes of imports have started, but not enough to ease markets until the District 3 area starts in September.

Larger limes have become scarce with considerably higher markets due to an unexpected early crop transition. Good quality larger limes are limited until about mid-September. Overall quality is fair with color light as summer limes usually represent. Valencia Orange quality is fair. Markets are steady. Overall, Grape markets are stable, quality is good and demand is steady. Quality and volume are fine. Cantaloupe markets remain firm as production slowed due to cooler weather. Smaller sizes are running tight. Honeydew markets are seeing better supplies however markets have crept up as they react to cooler weather. Smaller sizes are tighter. Supplies are better as product is harvested from Indiana. Quality has improved as more fields are harvested. New crop Anjou will be in September. California Bosc and Bartlett have arrived. Markets are stable with quality fruit. Supplies are consistent with good quality. Brix has been averaging 13-14% with average internal gold color.
