of Shaykh Muhammad - Fatha ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Husayn ibn NASIR ibn 'Amr ad-DAR'I al-Aghlabi

The Nasiri Du'a

In the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, Compassionate May Allah bless our Master Muhammad and his family Bi smil lhi rahmni rahim. wa sallal lahu 'al sayyidin Muhammadi n wa li h.

0 You to Whose mercy one flees! You in Whom the one in need and distress seeks refuge!
Y man il rahmatihi-l mafar-ru wa man ilayhi yal- ja-u-l mud- tar-ru

0 Master, You Whose pardon is near! 0 You Who help all who call on Him!
wa y qar -ba-l 'afwi y mawl- hu wa y mugh- tha kull i man da-'hu

We seek Your help, 0 You who help the weak! You are enough for us, 0 Lord!
bi kas- taghath-na y mugh- tha du- 'afa fa-hasbun ya rabbi anta wa kaf

There is nothing more majestic than Your immense power and nothing mightier than the might of Your force.
fal ajal-la min adh-mi qud-ratik wa l a-'azza min 'az zi sat-watik.

Kings are humbled to the might of Your domain and You lower or elevate whomever You wish.
li -'izzi mulki -ka- l mul-ku takhda- 'u. takh-fidu qad- ra man tash wa tarfa-'u

The entire affair returns to You, and the release or conclusion of all matters is in Your hand.
wal-amru kulluhu i layka radduhu wa bi- yadayka hal luhu wa 'aq- duhu

We have presented our affair before You, and we complain to You of our weakness.
wa qad rafa'n amran ilayka wa qad shakawn du'fan 'al ayka

Have mercy on us, 0 You Who know our weakness and continue to be merciful.
fr-hamn y man l ya- zlu 'l imn bi -du- 'fin wa l ya-zlu rhimn

Look at what we have experienced from people! Our state among them is as You see.
ndhur ila ma massan mi-na-l war fa-hl un min bayni-hi m kam tar

Our troops are few and our wealth is little. Our power has declined among groups.
qad qalla jam- 'un wa qall a waf-run wan-hatta m bayna-l j um- 'i qadrun

They have weakened our solidarity and strength and diminished our numbers and our preparation.
was-tad-'afn shaw-katan wa shiddah was-tan-qasn 'udda- tan wa 'iddah

0 You Whose kingdom cannot be pillaged, give us shelter by Your rank which is never overcome!
fa-nahnu y man mul- kuhu l yus- labu ludh-n bij-hika-l ladh l yugh-labu

0 Succour of the poor, we trust in You! 0 Cave of the weak, we rely on You!
il ayka y ghaw-tha-l faqri nas-tanid 'alayka y kahfa da- 'fi na- 'tamid

You are the One on Whom We call to remove our adversities, and You are the One we hope will dispel our sorrows.
anta-l ladh nad-' li-kashfi-l gha-mart anta-l ladh narj li daf- 'i-l ha- sart

You have such concern for us that we cannot hope for protection which comes through any other door.
anta-l 'in-yatu-l lat l nar-taj him-yatan min ghayri b-bi h taj

We rush to the door of Your bounty and You honour the one You enrich by Your gift.
nta-l ladh nas-'a bi-bbi fad-lihi kramu man gh-n bi -faydi nay- lihi

You are the One Who guides when we are misguided. You are the One who pardons when we slip. 7
nta-l ladh tahd dh dalal-n nta-l ladh ta-'f dh zalal-n

You have full knowledge of all You have created and encompassing compassion, mercy and forbearance.
wa si'-ta kull a m khalaqta 'i lmn wa ra-fatan wa rahmatan wa hil -mn

There is no one in existence more lowly than we are nor poorer and more in need of what You have than us.
wa laysa minn f-l wujdi ah-qaru wa l lim 'indaka minn f-qaru

0 you of vast kindness! 0 You Whose good encompasses all mankind and no other is called on!
y wsi-'a-l h-sni y man khay- ruhu 'amma- l war wa l yund ghay-ruhu

0 Saviour of the drowning! 0 Compassionate! 0 rescuer of the lost! 0 Gracious Bestower!

y mun-qidha-l gharqa wa y hann-nu y mun-jiya-l halk wa y mann-nu

Words are lacking, 0 Hearing, 0 Answerer! The cure is difficult, 0 Swift! 0 Near!
dqa nitqu y sam-'u y muj b 'azza daw-u y sar- 'u y qarb

To you, our Lord, we have stretched out our hands and from You, our Lord, we hope for kindness.
wa qad madad-n rabban-l akuf-fa wa minka rabban rajaw-n-l lut-fa

Be kind to us in what You decree and let us be pleased with what pleases You.
fal-tuf bin fm bihi qadayta wa raddin bi m bihi rad-ta

0 Allah, change the state of hardship for ease and help us with the wind of victory.
wa ab- dili llahumma hl a-l 'usri bi -l yusri wm-dudn bir-hi nasri

Give us victory over the aggressors and contain the evil among those who asked for it.
wj-'al lan 'al- l bu-ghti-l ghal abah wq-sur adha sharri 'al man tal abah.

Overpower our enemy, 0 Mighty, with a force which disorders them and crushes them. 9
waq-har 'i d-n y 'azzu qah- r yaf-simu hab-lahum wa yusm dhah-r

Overturn what they desire and make their efforts fail, defeat their armies and unsettle their resolve.
w-'ki s mur-dahum wa khayyib sa'yahum wh-zi m juy-sha-hum wa afsid r-yahum

0 Allah, hasten Your revenge among them. They cannot stand before Your power.
wa 'aj -jil i ll ahumma f-hi m ni q-matak fa-innahum l yu-'jizzna qud- rataq

0 Lord, 0 Lord, Our protection is by Your love, and by the might of Your help.
ya rabbi y rabbi bi-habli 'is-matik qadi-'ta-samn wa bi 'izzi nus-ratik

Be for us and do not be against us. Do not leave us to ourselves for a single instant.
fakun lan wa l takun 'alay-n wa l taki lna tar-fatan lay- n

We have no power of defence nor have we any device to bring about our benefit.
fam taq-n quwwa-tan li -daf-'i wa l- s-tata- 'n hl a-tan li -naf-'i

We do not aim for other than Your noble door, and we do not hope for other than Your encompassing bounty.
wa m qasadn ghayra bbi-ka-l karm wa m rajawn ghayra fad-l ika- l 'amm

Minds only hope for Your blessing by the simple fact that you say "Be" and it is.
fam rajat min khay-ri ka dhun-nu bi -nafsi m taqlu kun ya- k-nu

0 Lord, 0 Lord, arrival is by You to what You have and seeking the means is by You!
y rabbi y rabbi bika tawas- sul u lim ladayka wa bika tawas-sulu.

0 Lord, You are our high pillar of support! 0 Lord, You are our impregnable fortress.
y rabbi anta ruk- nun raf-'u y rabbi anta hisnu-n- l man-'u

0 Lord, 0 Lord, give us security when we travel and when we remain. 11

y rabbi y rabbi nil n-l m- n dhr-tahaln wa dh qam-n

0 Lord, preserve our crops and herds, and preserve our trade and make our numbers more!
y rabbi wah-fadh zar-'an wa dar'an wh-fadh tij- ran wa- waffir j am'an

Make our land a land of the deen and repose for the needy and the poor.
wj-'al bi l-dan bil -da dni war-hata-l muh-tji w-l mis-kni

Give us force among the lands as well as respect, impregnability and a polity.
wj-'al lah bayna-l bil- di saw-lah wa hur-matan wa man-'atan wa daw-l ah.

Appoint it its might from the protected secret, and grant it protection by the beautiful veiling
wj-'al mi na sirri-l masni 'i zza- h wj-'al mi na sitri-l jamli hir-zah

By sad, qaf and nun, place a thousand veils in front of it.

wj-'al bi -sdin wa bi -qfin wa bi -nn l fa hij bin min war-ih yakn

By the rank of the light of Your noble Face and the rank of the secret of Your immense kingdom,
bi-jhi nri waj-hika-l kar-mi wa-jhi si rri mulki-ka-l 'adh-mi

And the rank of 'la ilaha illa'llah' and the rank of the Best of Creation, 0 our Lord,
wa-jhi l ilaha i lla lla-hu wa-jhi khayri -l khalqi y rabb-hu

And the rank of that by which the Prophets prayed to You and the rank of that by which the Awliya' pray to you,
wa-jhi m bihi da-'ka-l anbi y wa-jhi m bihi da-'ka-l awli y

And the rank of the power of the Qutb and the Awtad and the rank of the Jaras and Afrad,
wa-jhi qadri-l qutbi w-l awt-di wa-jhi hl i-l jarsi w-l afr-di

And the rank of the Akhyar and the rank of Nujaba' and the rank of the Abdal and the rank of the Nuqaba', 13
wa-jhi-l akh- yri wa jhi nuj ab wa-jhi-l abdli wa jhi nuqab

And the rank of every one worshipping and doing dhikr and the rank of everyone praising and giving thanks,
wa-jhi kulli 'bi -din wa dh-ki r wa-jhi kulli hmidin wa sh-kir.

And the rank of everyone whose worth You elevated both those who are concealed and those whose renown has spread,
wa-jhi kulli man rafa-'ta qad-rahu mimman satarta aw na-sharta dhik-rahu.

And the ranks of the firm ayats of the Book and the rank of the Greatest Supreme Name,
wa-jhi yti-l ki tbi -l muh-kami wa-jhi-l smi -l 'dhami-l mu-'adha- mi

0 Lord, 0 Lord, make us stand as fuqara' before You, weak and lowly.
y rabbi y rabbi wa qafn fuqar bayna yaday-ka du- 'af-a huqar

We call to You with the supplication of the one who calls on a noble Lord who does not turn aside those who call.
wa qad da- 'aw- nka du'-a man da' rabbn kar-mn l ya- ruddu man sa'

Accept our supplication with Your pure grace, with the acceptance of someone who sets aside the fair reckoning.
fq-bal du'-an bi-mahdi- l fad- li qabla man algh his-ba-l 'ad-li

Bestow on us the favour of the Generous, and show us the kindness of the Forbearing.
wam-nun 'alayn mi nnata-l kar -mi w-'tif 'al ayn 'at-fata- l hal -mi

0 Merciful, extend Your mercy over us and spread Your blessing over us, 0 Generous.
wan-shur 'alayn y rahmu rahma-tak wab-sut 'alayn y kar-mu ni 'ma- tak

Choose for us in all our words and select for us in all our actions.
wa khi r lan f s-iri -l qw-li wakh-tar l an f sa-iri-l f-'li

0 Lord, make it our habit to cling and devote ourselves to the resplendent Sunna. 15
y rabbi waj-'al da-'ban ta- massu-k bi sunnati -l gharr-i wa ta-nassu-k

Confine our manifold desires to You and grant us full and complete gnosis.
wah-sur lan ghr-dan-l mukhta-l ifah f ka wa 'arrifna tam- ma-l ma'rifah

Combine both knowledge and action for us, and direct our hopes to the Abiding Abode.
waj-ma' lan m bayna 'ilmin wa 'amal ws-ri f il dri-l baq mi nna-l mal

0 Lord, make us follow the road of the fortunate and make our seal the Seal of the martyrs, 0 Lord!
wn-haj bi n y rabbi nahj a su- 'ad wkh-ti m lan y rabbi khatma shu-had

Make our sons virtuous and righteous, scholars with action and people of good counsel.
waj-'al bann fudal a sul a-h wa 'ul am a 'mi-l na nusa- ha

0 Allah, remedy the situation of the people and, 0 Allah, make the reunification easy.
wa s-l ihi llahumma hl a-l h-l i wa yassi-ri ll ahumma j am-'a sham-li

0 Lord, grant Your clear victory to the one who takes charge and empowers the Deen,
y rabbi wf-tah fat-haka-l mub na li -man tawalla wa -'azza d- na

And help him, 0 You Who are forbearing, and help his party and fill his heart with what will make him pleasing to you.
wn-surhu y dh tawli wn-sur hizbahu wm-la bim yur-dka 'anhu qalba-hu

0 Lord, help our Muhammadan deen, and make it end mighty as it began.
y rabbi wn-sur dna-n-l muhammad waj-'al khi-tma 'izzi hi kam bud

Preserve it, 0 Lord, through the preservation of the scholars, and raise the minaret of its light to heaven.
wh-fadh-hu y rabbi bi-hifdhi- l 'ulam wr-fa' manra nri -hi l sama

Pardon, grant well-being, make up for our deficiency and forgive our sins and the sins of every Muslim, 0 our Lord. 17
w-'fu wa 'fi wkfi wgh-fir dhan- ban wa dhan-ba kul li musli -min y rabban

0 Lord, bless the Chosen one with your perfect prayer of blessing.
wa sal li y rabbi 'al-l mukht-ri sal-taka-l kmi-lata-l miqd-ri

Your prayer is that which grant success in his business as befits his lofty worth.
sal-takal-lati taf bi-m-rihi kam yal- qu bir- tif-'i qad- rihi

Then bless his noble family and glorious Companions and those who have followed them.
thumma 'al -l li- l ki rmi wa 'al as-hbihi-l ghurri wa man lahum tal

Praise belongs to Allah by whose praise those with an aim completely fulfil that aim.
wa-l hamdu l illahi ladh bi hamdihi yablu- ghu dh- l qasdi tamma qas-dihi
