The final tax bill by the Minnesota Legislature failed to include Wanamingo or any other Cities not identified in the original legislation. Representative Drazkowski and Senator Schmitt were not part of the Conference Committee that had final authority to bring the House and the Senate bills together. The language now allows the Rochester City Council the authority to give the Cities on the original list the $5,000,000 by September 1, 2013. If the Rochester City Council does not act, the money will go back into the Sales Tax pool for other uses. Keith Allen Update - EDA Director Boulton spoke with Mr. Allen last week. Mr. Allen will be planting his seed plot when the field dries out. His intentions are to still construct a building in the Industrial Park.
