Saturday, August 03, 2013 Representative Ted Yoho 511 Cannon House Office Building Washington, D.C. 20515 Dear Representative Yoho: Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to discuss issues important to all of us. I agree we need to unify and slow this socialist juggernaut but sadly, there are more socialists among us than freethinking, freedom loving Americans. The choice you gave us between fixing Obamas eligibility or the economy was a surprise. Obamas eligibility and the economy are moral issues but asking constituents to choose which one they want fixed is a false choice since Obamas eligibility is a legal issue dealing with the rule of law. Illegal precedent, however justified and tolerated, is still illegal and destructive to the rule of law. Given the choice, I had the impression some members of Congress are unable to chew gum and walk at the same time. Your personal experience and concomitant support for the existing social safety net goes to the heart of a brief conversation I had with a constituent on my way into the Tea Party meeting. He stopped me to comment on my car stickers and that led to a brief conversation about the economy, our debt, and welfare system. This person was shocked that I lamented our grandparents and parents stupidity for electing politicians giving Americans Social Security, thus enabling Medicare, Medicaid, Prescription drugs that followed. He had trouble understanding that their decision took away some of ours and future generations freedoms and individual life choices. He justified what exists, while admitting every program the government enacts is fraud ridden. He also had trouble grasping the idea the states are free to do whatever they want while the federal government is limited constitutionally. It was obviously this person is a low information voter and a product of the system. I am sure he was glad to hear you will protect the existing system that furthers the dependency you and the Tea Parties decry but cannot come to grips with. I made no effort to figure out what he wanted or why he was there. I was pleased you reaffirmed education is a 10th Amendment State Right. However, I was dismayed you fell for the establishments bull that Common Core is the brainchild of state governors. I hope you access this video link to ascertain the truth. I was glad you reconfirmed your opposition to Obamacare. I was however disappointed that you chose to support the Republican alternative. Sadly, the republican alternative is as unconstitutional as Obamacare because there is nothing in Article 1, 8, authorizing congressional influence or interference in individual health care. Health care, like education, is a state function if government intervention is required.

I agree that compromise is essential but compromise and a paucity of principles got us here. I refuse to compromise principle for party meaning I am done with the Republican Party. I will work for your reelection as long as you continue to honor your oath and represent the interests I consider vital to this countrys welfare and future. If at some point you decide to trade party for principle, you can forget about my support. Yours in the Bill of Rights,

Roy G. Callahan
