TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (SEWERAGE WORK)

I. Manufacturing of R.C.C. pipe NP2 and NP3 Pipes (NP2 or NP3 class) : Manufacturing of pipe as per IS 458 with the latest amendment as per Clause 6 with amendment, casting pipe by spinning, vibrating the concrete method. Flexible Rubber joints like pipe socket-spigot shall provided. : As per IS 8041, IS 8043 and IS 8112 a latest version for the manufactures of concrete pipes. : i) ii) Mild steel grade-I, as per IS:432 Part-I & II structural steel as per IS:2062. As per IS 1566 and IS 1786 and IS 226 of latest amendments.

3) Class of pipe NP2 (Rubber Ring Roll on joint)

: Spigot and socket as per Table No.9 of IS code 458 with latest amendment and design as per Table No.2 with amendments. : Spigot and socket as per Table No.10 and 10A of I.S. code 458 with latest amendment. Design as per Table 3 with amendment. Barrel thickness design should be approved before taking work of manufacturing the pipe for NP3 class pipes. : Aggregates used as per I.S.383 latest version and as per Clause No.4.3 of IS 458-1988 with amendment No.2.

: Pipe concrete should conforming to IS:456-1978 code of practice for plain and RCC (fourth revision) as per clause No.4.5 with latest amendment. : As per IS 456-2000. : Contractor has to make arrangement of testing of pipe at factory before supply at site. Sampling as per IS code as per IS 458 clause 9 with latest amendment/cube test are as per IS 516-1959 and IS 5816-1999 at factory. Test are : i) Hydrostatic test as per 3599-1998. ii) Three-edge bearing test per IS 3599-1998. iii) Permeability test as per 3597-1998. iv) Absorption test as per 3599-1998. v) Straightness test as per 3599-1998. 6) Water 7) Testing at factory

Sampling and inspection should be as per clause No.10 of 458 with amendment. 8) Marking on pipes : i) ii) iii) iv) Name of manufacture with register trademark. Class of pipe Date of manufacturer I.S.I. mark

: Rubber ring chords used for pipes joints shall conform to IS:53821967 with amendment. Gasket shall be made of a properly vulcanized virgin rubber compound of containing no scrap or reclaim. : i) ii) iii) iv) v) Hardness Test as per IS:3400 Tensile Test of Ring as per IS:3400 Compression Test as per IS:3400. Accelerated ageing in air as per IS:3400. Water absorption Test as per I.S.3400.

Tests

Sampling the time lapse for : As per IS code 5382 class 6 clause testing. Marking on Rings 7 with appendix D. i) ii) iii) The manufactures name and Trade mark if any Month and year of manufacturer The type follower by a word such Gas or Water or Sewer depending on the applications. ISI mark

iv) III Manholes

: As per IS:411 (Part-I) 1986 and as per drawing issued by CIDCO for execution purpose and as directed by Engineer.

: One sample of step of 50 samples may be subjected to load test as per Appendix A : ISI mark Manufacture Name Manhole : As per Tender Schedule and Drawing and IS Code 125922002. : Heavy duty HD 20 Rectangular or Circular : IS:269, IS:455, IS:8043, IS:8112. : IS 383 : IS : 456-2000. M-30 Grade. : As per Clause 4.4 of IS:12592. : Load Test as per clause o.9.3 of IS:12592. Sampling and/or testing should be done in accordance with Clause No.11 of IS:12592. : ISI mark, BIS mark. : As per Schedule of rate of Tender and Particular Specifications and IS Code 783. Width of excavation is as per Particular Specification.
