Fundamentals of ICT Assume that you are working as a business system consultant in a highly reputed system development organization

which engaged in producing ERP solutions for clients. Maxis Cartlend (pvt) Ltd established in 1952 which engage in garment manufacturing. It does operate 3 factories, out of which 2 are located in the capital city and other in down south. There are around 500 employees in the company and has a turn over of 24 million last year. Even though the company operates for more than 50 years, surprisingly it does not use any of the IT services. That is mainly because of the management system and the faith they put in the manual operations. Although the company able to survive in low competition market environment at past, now with the increasing competition it needs to compete with their competitors. Especially as the competitors using new modern technologies including IT as a major part, the Maxis find it very difficult to have the music. As this issue grown into the burning factor the management decided to get some export consultant assistance regarding how to use new technology into the company in order to increase the productivity and to get competitive advantage over its competitors. Maxis invited server major consulting and system development organizations in the country to provide them the same proposals including the company that you are working for. The important points mentioned in the invitation for proposals are summarized below. Maxis want to increase their productivity. It faced huge difficulties in finding required labor force. They want to increase the accuracy of their working by minimizing human mistakes. The company faces a severe space problem both in production and record keeping. Transferring of information between factories is costly. Lots of frauds have taken place in difficult operations as there is no any security measurement taken, especially in transferring information. Your company has appointed you to produce a consultancy project proposal for the Maxis. Note : The factor that the company and its management neither expose and have a knowledge regarding any IT concept is major consideration in producing this report. During the discussion had with your management it was decided that the report is to be produced under following sub sessions.

Task 01 Prepare a report to Identify the Computer Environment of Maxis Cartlend (pvt) Ltd with completing follow needs; 1.1 Understand the computer system environment. 1.2 Analysis the evolution of computers. 1.3 Identify & describe the functions of the parts of the Total Computer System. 1.4 Select the appropriate computer system in line with customer requirements. Task 02 2.1 Identify the components to build up Maxis Cartlend (pvt) Ltd ICT.

2.2 Provide a plan to evaluate the performance of Communication Technology (Hint - Bandwidth, Frequencies, Analog & Digital Transmission) Task 03 3.1 Do a risk analysis on Maxis Cartlend (pvt) Ltds ICT.

3.2 Give methods to recover from the threats (Backups, Access Rights, RAID Systems, Disk Mirroring) Task 04 4.1 4.2 4.3 Provide a report for management, how data represent within the computer? Include five examples to explain above 4.1 With using diagram explain life cycle of the computer

How ICT can improve the clients business- the main session of the report which should discuss how to overcome the above mentioned problems that the client had with there current system. 4. Conclusion 5. Appendix A- Introduction to computers, computer evolution, total computer system and IT equipments that can be used in custom promotion. Appendix B- Data representation in computers, including the compassion of number systems used in manual and computer system, file organization in computers permanent storage dev ice and their advantage and how a computer executes and introduction. Note- appendix B is intended to IT users so that use of computer jargons is accepted.
