Dear Friends,
On the Move
Welcome to the September edition of On the Move. September is the beginning of my favorite time of the year. It begins with the Labor Day holiday marking the unofcial end of summer. The temperatures tend to cool, football games begin to appear on my television and my calendar, and numerous activities resume at churches after a few months of summer respite. Schools tend to start in August, but school activities ramp up in September. This September is especially exciting at Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF). LCEF is demonstrating its interest in and support of young people by introducing the Y.I. (Young Investors) Club. All too often we as parents and grandparents take it for granted that our children or grandchildren will somehow learn about the need to save for the future. Our churches often take young people for granted when it comes to educating them in the principles of Christian stewardship. Both topics are at the center of the Y.I Club. This issue of On the Move is dedicated to the introduction of a savings and education program designed especially for young people. September is just the beginning of the Y.I. Club more information will be forthcoming in subsequent months. This September also marks an important time for several of our area congregations. We have several congregations that are partnering with LCEF Ministry Support in an effort to generate nancial commitments for several exciting building projects. Every dollar raised in these efforts is one less dollar that has to be borrowed and repaid (with interest). Please join with me in praying that God richly blesses these efforts so that more can be reached with the Gospel. Finally, this September will also mark the beginning of three years of service for all who were elected at the recent 65th Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. It is our prayer that these men and women will serve faithfully and with a zeal to do all possible to assist the many ministries of our church body in reaching out to a world that hungers for the Truth that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Thank you for your past, present, and future support of the ministry of Lutheran Church Extension Fund. In HIS Service, Dennis Klussman LCEF Vice President

The minimum is low, making it easy to start a Y.I. investment. As young investors receive cash gifts from family and friends for birthdays and holidays, earn an allowance and begin their rst jobs, they can let it grow in their Y.I. StewardAccount. As a member of the Y.I. Club, students can also earn extra credit in the investment for good grades and community service, keeping them active and engaged in saving and stewardship. Check out Y.I. Club at lcef.org or call 800-843-5233. LCEF is a nonprot religious organization; therefore, LCEF investments are not FDIC-insured bank deposit accounts.
