THANKS FROM THE CHILDREN This year, our collection of backpacks and school supplies exceeded anything we had done in the past. I am not surprised, because the people of St. Francis Borgia are truly generous! For those children victimized by terrible crimes, our donations are a small way to remind them that there ARE people who do care about them. May God bless and reward all of you who were so generous this year. Fr. Joe Mulcrone Catholic Womens Club

Respect Life
Testimony of a Dad after abortion: Quite often I even wake up in the morning thinking painfully of the undeniably selfish act I did over 11 years ago - STILL! I know I overrode in my core being my conscience (dulled at the time) and my Fatherhood instinct. No two ways about it: I acted - no, I was a coward. My action, despite my confession and repentance before my Creator - continues to rob much of the joy from my life. I would do anything (if God would accept the bargain) to reverse that fateful mistake.

To Teach Who Christ Is Campaign

Dear Parishioners, Without a doubt, the Lord has been very good to each of us. We here at St. Francis Borgia have plenty of reasons to be joyful. Thanks be to a lot of hard work, our church is a beautiful place to pray, and will be for years to come. On the weekend of the 14th and 15th of September, we will all have a chance to look at our personal finances and make a deposit in our account in heaven. Thats where the money we give away here goes...into our account upstairs! When you are considering what kind of sacrifice to make, have a look around the church. Our church was built by people who worked hard and sacrificed for the future. We enjoy the fruits of their sacrifices. They all put aside their donation to the church before they paid the rest of their bills, and look what they were able to accomplish! With Gods help, we will learn to invest in the future with the same energy and commitment our parishs founders had, and we will insure that St. Francis Borgias is here for your children and grandchildren. When you are looking at this newsletter, please review carefully the guidelines for giving and ask yourself what the Lord is calling you to give.

St. Francis Borgias Needs

Our Parish goal is to raise $750,000. These funds will be used to provide the following essential structural needs: - New Church Roof - New Church Lighting System - New Church Flooring

Q&A
What is a Commitment Card and Why Use It? First, our campaign commitment card is a simple statement of intent, not a contract. Knowledge of what dollar amounts to expect is critical to plan wisely for our future. How Much Should I Consider When Planning My Gift? We ask each household to prayerfully answer this question: What is God calling me to do for our Church through the To Teach who Christ Is Campaign? If Necessary, May I Change My Commitment? Of course. Should your circumstances change and you need to alter your giving plan, please contact our parish office. When Do I Receive My Card? All cards are distributed and returned during Commitment Weekend on September 14 & 15, 2013. If you are unable to attend, you will receive your commitment card in the mail with instructions on how to complete and return it.

Guidelines for Giving

Give First. I will make the first use of my income an act of faithfulness to a loving Lord. Give Proportionately. I will give happily in accordance with the resources I have been given and compare my gift to no others. Give Generously. I will listen as scripture teaches me to give generously just as God has bestowed wonderful gifts upon me. Give Quietly. I will give without fanfare. God sees, and that is all that matters. I will never seek to draw attention, but I will be prepared to explain why I give. Give Sacrificially. I will practice giving in a way that expresses my love of God. I will recognize that both God and I know when a gift comes from my heart. Give Personally. I will invest myself, my time, and my talent. I will allow each member of my family the same opportunity for personal involvement. Give Gratefully. I will bring to mind Gods gifts and ways that money can matter for eternity. Give Freely. I will attach no strings or expectations to my gift. I will seek nothingparticularly public recognitionin return. Give Cheerfully. I know from scripture that God delights in and loves a cheerful giver. Give Expectantly. I will look for ways to share my gifts, bear anothers burden, or contribute my resources to God. Give Worshipfully. I will acknowledge that God is the author of giving. I will recall that God has given me everything that I possess, including my very life. I especially remember that God gave all humanity His very own son so that we might experience eternal life. Give Faithfully. I will cultivate the discipline of faithfulness regardless of how I feel at the time.
