TEEN MOTHER OF MISSING BABY: VICTIM OF LONG TERM DOMESTIC ABUSE

FORCED TO PARTICIPATE IN COVER-UP

Please be advised that local criminal defense attorneys Roderick C. White and Roberta Walker have
been retained to represent Tamaira Creagh and release the following statement:

While it is very easy to demonize this teenage mother, Tamaira Creagh, because of the outrage we all
feel at the disappearance of this young child, anyone who has ever had any experience with continued
domestic violence and abuse knows that the violence and abuse permeates every aspect of the victim’s
life. It affects how you think, what you think, and how you handle a crisis. If domestic violence and
abuse is devastating to older, more sophisticated, and more experienced suburban women, just imagine
its dramatic affects upon this young, poor, inexperienced teenage mother. Her initial participation in
Alandus Weaver’s cover-up story was simply a byproduct of the grief, shock, and fear associated with
domestic violence and abuse. Furthermore, it is important to note that the focus of the investigation
ultimately and appropriately changed based solely on Tameria’s actions. Despite her fear for herself
and unborn child of continued violence at the hands of Weaver she bravely came forward.

Additionally, law enforcement personnel are not making the proper distinction between Weaver’s
actions and Tamaira’s actions. From both a legal and practical standpoint it is important to note the
following:

• Weaver was the parent that was taking care of the child while Tamaira was at work
• The child was bruised, cold, and lifeless when Tamaira came home from work
• Weaver was the person solely responsible for all harm to the child
• Weaver came up with the cover-up story and forced a weak, unsophisticated, grief-stricken
Tamaira to participate
• Weaver forced Tamaira to ride to Lake Lewisville with him, placing her in imminent fear for
her own safety
• Weaver tied the baby to the sandbag
• Weaver dropped the baby into the lake

These distinctions are significant because in legal documents law enforcement personnel express
unqualified belief in the statement that Tamaira provided and appropriately use it to arrest Weaver.
Surprisingly, they then inexplicably selectively disbelieve essentially the same information to justify
an arrest of Tamaira. This is obviously very confusing and frightening to all involved.

The police have erroneously made Tameria a suspect as opposed to the witness and victim that she
clearly is. It was in response to actual and threatened physical abuse that Tamaira was forced to
participate in Weaver’s attempted cover-up. While Tamaria obviously regrets her participation, she is
still willing and anxious to cooperate with law enforcement in an effort to seek justice for her child,
despite her inappropriate arrest.
