Homework and Labs Homework is assigned periodically throughout the semester - we will assign HW in lecture, and the due date will be in the assignment. From each HW, your TA will grade two or more randomly selected problems. Late HW will not be graded! The lab schedule is listed on the next page. For each lab, a small project is assigned which is usually due the following week at the beginning of your lab. It is imperative that you go to lab to understand the assignment. Late lab reports will not be graded! Quizzes A 15-20 minute quiz will be given on days marked with Quiz on the schedule on the next page. These quizzes will cover fundamental topics from lecture, readings, and homework. Missing and Regraded Assignments For HW, labs, and quizzes that are missed for excused absences, your grade on the nal exam will be substituted for those grades. Unexcused absences will lead to zeros on those assignments. If you believe we made an error in grading your work, you may resubmit the work for a complete regrade of the whole assignment up to one week after we return it. Please indicate where you believe we went wrong in grading. Honor Code As a citizen of the Duke University Community, each student is committed not to lie, cheat, or steal in her/his academic endeavors and to report known instances of violations to appropriate faculty. The full code is printed in the Undergraduate Bulletin. Violations of the honor code will be reprimanded by failure of this course and will be reported to the Undergraduate Judicial Board who may follow-up with suspension, disciplinary probation and/or other forms of restitution. Ignorance of what constitutes academic dishonesty is not a justiable excuse for violations. Discussion among students regarding course contents, homeworks and labs are encouraged, but quizzes and exams must be completed independently. Communication of any form is forbidden.
