"Tangata takahi manuhiri, he marae puehu." "A person who mistreats his guests has a dusty marae." A lesson about treating your guests very well otherwise you will end up with no guests at all. This whakatauki stresses the importance of MANAAKITANGA or hospitality within Maori culture.

Inter-Intermediate Music
Last Thursday twelve MIS students travelled to Te Awamutu Intermediate to take part in a music workshop. We were split into different categories such as rock band, orchestra and choir. The songs we learned included Thriller, Beautiful, Born this way, and Some Nights. We soon had lunch and talked about what wed learned and took a look around the school. Straight after lunch we were back into making our music happen. Then the choir and rock bands joined the orchestra to run through the songs before performing in front of Te Awamutu Intermediate. It was an awesome day, we all had heaps of fun and made new friends. We would like to thank Mr Mellow, Mrs Williams, and Mrs Boyd for taking transport. Last, but definitely not least, Mrs Shepherd for organising the day. Report by Zhane Collinson & Tori Gilroy
