Throughput Analysis

Throughput Analysis provides users a range chart based on the best throughput detected during a call. Users can view the throughput chart according to the selected Best UERC type in RLC or application throughput. Users can also view the drill down analysis for the Best/Worst Cell Analysis or Cell UERC Analysis. This feature is only available for Ericsson GPEH (General Performance Event Handling). Figure 19 shows the Throughput Analysis Chart in GPEH.

3.2.2.1.4.

Neighbor Optimization

The Neighbor Optimization feature provides an easy solution to verify the neighbor plan and find both missing neighbors and unutilized existing neighbors based on the GPEH or CHR or Megamon recording. Using the Neighbor Optimization feature, users will obtain the optimal neighbor definition with priorities analyzed from live network data. The list of neighbors in WCDMA network is presented in a tabular form in Workbench and on map view such as MapInfo, Google Earth or Bing Maps. An accurate neighbor plan is crucial for network performance in WCDMA network. If there are too many defined neighbors in a network, there will be a greater risk that the most important neighbors are not being measured due to time constraints. On the other hand, if a neighbor is not defined (missing) and is too strong, the system will drop the call. This makes optimizing the neighbor plan one of the most important tasks for a WCDMA optimization engineer. Xeus Pro users can use the Neighbor Optimization tool to perform one of the following:Missing neighbor - Xeus Pro allows the users to perform analysis of the reported missing neighbors for possible further action. This powerful feature for WCDMA networks is based on real customer behavior and not on test equipment.

XEUS PRO 2012: PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Re-rank the neighbor with new priority setting Neighbor Optimization allows the user to reset the ranking of the neighbors based on its category and ranking type in Xeus. Remove neighbor Users can delete an existing mutual neighbor relation if the neighbor relation is no longer required or necessary. Issue a Change Request A change request is created after analyzing and deciding which neighbor relations need to be created, removed, or modified.

3.2.3.2.1.

Pilot Pollution Analysis

The Pilot Pollution Analysis presents an overview of what the interference looks like in a network. It leads the user to the cells that cause the biggest interference in the network or the cell that is most interfered in the network. Xeus Pro GPEH or CHR or Megamon presents this information to users both in a graphical map view and in a spreadsheet form for easy analysis. The data can be sorted according to the worst polluters or those cells experiencing the most pollution. Analysis results will be presented in spreadsheet form at the Workbench. This will give the optimization engineer very important information when improving the performance of the WCDMA network. Figure 20 shows the Pilot Pollution Analysis Chart in GPEH.

[Figure 20: GPEH Pilot Pollution Chart]

Xeus Pro uses specific WCDMA events to detect a possible pilot pollution situation. These events are part of a UEs signaling with the RBS, collected from GPEH or CHR or Megamon and then parsed for it to be viewed in
the tool. This means, the information used to determine a cells pilot pollution is based on recorded live traffic.

Phone Profiling

Phone Profiling allows the user to view statistics or summary of events according to each phone model used in the recording. This summary page makes it easier to analyze frequency of events and find a specific phone problem. Phone Type Editor Users can manage the list of phone models and TAC available in Xeus by using the Phone Type Editor. The Phone Type Editor comprises a list of IMEI that presents the statistics grouped per IMEI TAC and allows the calls for a selected IMEI TAC to be listed. The list of the Phone models and TAC can also be imported or exported to excel format.

3.2.2.1.6.

VIP Analysis

VIP Analysis allows the user to search for a particular IMSI from the database and view the Statistics and call information of that IMSI. Users can also bookmark a frequently used IMSI for future analysis. The VIP KIP Summary displays the detail information of the searched IMSI. Figure 21 shows the VIP Analysis in GPEH.

Coverage Analysis

The Coverage Analysis helps you to identify cells with the highest percentage of over coverage calls. The over coverage calls are those calls with values that are higher than the mean setup distance. The "Load Details" button located at the right side of the page allows you to load the list of all the cells with the highest percentage of over coverage calls. List of the cells will be presented in spreadsheet form at the Workbench.

3.2.2.1.8.

Smartphone Analysis

The Smartphone Analysis feature provides a unique window into the performance of Smartphone in a 3G network. This feature is only available for Ericsson GPEH (General Performance Event Handling). Users can perform PS Signalling Analysis to detect Fast Dormancy Event, RRC State Transition for the PS Channel Event, Call End due to Fast Dormancy, and Phone Level PS Statistics. Users can view details on time taken in each state (Cell PCH, FACH, and DCH), RRC State Transitions and data transfers on UL/DL per phone model.

Analysis using Workbench

The Workbench presents a tabular form of all the information obtained through GPEH or CHR or Megamon Analysis. Click on the required cellID on Workbench to view a synchronized map view indicating the location of the selected cell. The Workbench synchronizes with GPEH or CHR or Megamon Views to display Event, Message and Measurement data for each call or event. Click Load GPEH Views (for GPEH) or Load CHR Views (for CHR) or Load Megamon Views (for Megamon) button located at the top part of Workbench to view the GPEH or CHR views. Workbench is also synchronized with maps such as MapInfo, Bing Maps or Google Earth to provide analysis for different types of call and events. Users can disable Workbench synchronization with GPEH Views and map by clicking on Synchronize with other views button to disable it. Click on Action button at workbench if you wish to view the list of actions that can be performed with the information in Workbench.

3.2.2.3.

GeoAnalysis

GeoAnalysis is a new feature in Xeus Pro 2012 which enables you to estimate a location using non-GPS based Traffic Measurement Recordings. Xeus uses GeoAnalysis to perform geo-location estimation using a combination of OTDDA multi lateration and relative signal strength. Analysis on GeoAnalysis is done through plots and reporting. Using GeoAnalysis, geo-located events and measurements can be plotted and areas where significant pilot overlaps identified. Figure 23 shows the GeoAnalysis Plots in GPEH.

4.3. Task Automation Module (TAM)

Task Automation Module (TAM) is a combination of the Task Manager and an 'automate' feature inside Xeus Pro. The Task Automation Module (TAM) allows you manage your parsing task and schedules. This also allows you to schedule FTP parsing for log files that are stored in a remote server. An assigned administrator will have to configure the FTP access and Xeus Task Automation Module (TAM) will automatically fetch the logs from the OSS/RNC and process them. The result of the processing will be a separate traffic recording database attached to the project based on the running date. Users can analyze the result directly at the workstation or by remote access using Remote Desktop and also copy the output data set to his/her local PC and attach it to his/ her local project. The administrator is responsible to ensure the workstation has sufficient hard disk space to prevent any failure of processing. A separate license is required to activate the Task Automation Module (TAM) functionality.

[Figure 25: Xeus Task Manager]

The lists of functionality available in the Task Automation Module (TAM) shown below: 1. 2. Task Automation Module (TAM) has an 'Automate' tab to process Traffic Measurement files e.g. GPEH, CHR or Megamon. Task Automation Module (TAM) can process the traffic recording files in parallel format. The required number of parallel processing in one workstation is four.
