Mumbai v Rest of Ind in India (venue TBA)

Sun TV Network, the new owners of the Hyderabad IPL franchise, have retained 20 players from the terminated Deccan Chargers, meeting the October 31 deadline by when the teams had to announce which players they were giving a contract extension to for the 2013 season, and which players they were releasing. A total of 179 players have been retained by the nine franchises on the same financial terms. Each franchise has a salary cap of up to $12.5m to spend on their 2013 squad, which can contain a maximum of 33 players, including 11 from overseas. The trading window opens on November 19, when teams will be able to sign uncapped Indian players, including the 52 whose contracts were not extended. From November 1, franchises can re-sign players who they took as temporary replacements in IPL 2012.

Posted by imdk07 on (November 04 2012, 08:33 AM GMT) Where is Dwayne smith on MI's List?....Expecting Gary Ballance,Joshua Cobb to get part of IPL 2013 Posted by kc69 on (November 03 2012, 21:09 PM GMT) I guess Abhishek Nayar(from the released indian players) and Johan Botha(Released foreign players) will be the players everyone will want Posted by kc69 on (November 03 2012, 20:58 PM GMT) i really feel Hyderabad I franchise releasing Dan Christian is a bad move..he is a very useful all rounder. Posted by SC13159 on (November 03 2012, 18:55 PM GMT) CSK will use bulk of their remaining money to get Starc in the auction. I suspect that is why they released Bollinger. Posted by CricFan707 on (November 03 2012, 11:56 AM GMT) I think KKR should have released players like Eoin Morgan, Ryan ten Doeschate and Marchant de Lange. KKR doesn't use them anyways and they just warm the bench. Instead they can provide fireworks for weak teams like PWI and gain some fame. RTD's talent has been wasted by KKR. I feel very sad about that:) I hope he comes in Pune after the next IPL. Posted by Abhirup Anand on (November 03 2012, 09:01 AM GMT)

this is intial squad... franchises can sign replacement player from 1st nov to 19th nov.... and smith is replacement player.... Posted by g.jeevan05 on (November 02 2012, 17:53 PM GMT) Dravid is gonna play IPL 6!!!!!!!!!!!! Posted by Gaurav Manchanda on (November 02 2012, 17:23 PM GMT)

Pune picked Steven Smith as a replacement player, so they cant retain him. However, as per IPL rules Pune Warriors have the first right to re-sign Steven Smith and buy him outside the auction. So all Steven Smith fans, no need to worry, you will definitely see the SUPER TALLENTED & HARD HITTING Steven Smith donning PW uniform.
