Speaking and Writing Listening and reading 2.1 Speak clearly by pronouncing words accurately. 2.3 Give relevant information politely in response to enquiries made. 4.4 Complete texts with the missing word, phrase or sentence. 2.1.1 Repeat the following sounds in words correctly 2.3.1 Name or identify objects, parts of the body, etc 4.4.3 Complete simple instructions, texts, rhymes, notices, recipes, stories with the missing word(s) (with a little guidance in the form of a composite picture). Grammar- Prepositions of location By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: i. demonstrate the correct use of prepositions by placing their monkey cards (people cards) according to the appropriate position, getting at least 5 correct out of 8. ii. match 6 pictures with at least 5 correct prepositions. iii. make sentences with correct prepositions, getting at least 3 out of 5 (what?). Pupils are familiar with the themes in the video clip shown during set induction (monkey, numbers) Pupils have learned to work in groups in previous classes (they will learn to work in pairs in this one) 1. 1. Pupils watch a video clip on

Rationale To capture the pupils attention and to arouse their interest in the topic. As a lead-in to the lesson.

Five Little Monkeys and sing along. What animal did you see in the video? What are they doing? Where are they? 2. Pupils tell what animal they saw in the video. 3. Pp answer questions about the animals actions and locations. 4. T displays their answers on the board.

Ss answers can be used as input for the lesson.

Presentation (+ 20 minutes)

Explanations. These words tell you the location of an object or person. Preposition in, on, under, in front of, behind, next to, near, between. Now, the monkey and the box will help you to learn the preposition prepositions of location: Example: i. the monkey is in the box. ii. the monkey is on the box.
