Our material: aluminium In this age of global warming, the selection of the materials used is equally important as the performance of buildings throughout their life cycle. The material properties of aluminium contribute to low environmental impact in Sapas production, in our customers production and by the end-user. Aluminium can be reused for the same purpose over and over again without losing its unique properties. Moreover, recycling requires only 5% of the original energy input. With 75% of the aluminium produced since the 1880s still in use, and recovery rates of aluminium from buildings in the region of 90%, the amount we will have to remove from the earth to support future demand is limited.

ELEGANCE 52 Elegance 52 is a comprehensive curtain wall system that combines technology and design with the demands of contemporary building design and construction. Weather performance, thermal insulation, building connection, ease of fabrication and installation were the key factors that influenced the design of Elegance 52. The Elegance 52 SI (Super Insulation) is a specific and highly thermally insulated solution that ensures compliance with the current energy-saving standards and initiatives. It is a modular system with different insulators. Moreover, the high thermal performance level improves the overall building insulation, leading to a lower total energy consumption and improving the buildings environmental profile.

ELEGANCE 72 Elegance 72 is a unitised curtain walling system that brings together the benefits of factory production control and speed of installation on site. Elegance 72 can incorporate windows and doors as well as Elegance SC Solar Control and solar power generation thus providing a complete faade solution for any building type or style.

Windows, doors as well as curtain walling systems have a complex role to perform. We believe that sustainable buildings offer robustness, security and comfort as well as minimised energy consumption. Our products are designed to help achieve all of these objectives. Our windows include several weather barriers based on specially designed gaskets, a large decompression chamber and internal drainage to assure perfect weather resistance. In addition, the acoustic performance is greatly enhanced.

Limit the sunlight while keeping the view with our external solar protection systems ensuring improved interior climate.

ENERGY CONTROL Our exterior solar protection systems keep the cooling needs of buildings to a minimum.

Solar control systems can substantially reduce buildings heat loads, reduce the cooling needs and improve the inside comfort. Depending on the building layout, yearly cooling loads can be reduced up to 20%. Solar control can also improve the visual comfort of users by diminishing glare and contrast. And last but not least, Sapa Building System solar control blades help accentuate the buildings architecture while ensuring perfect connection to the curtain wall. Our solar protection systems are available with motor drive for an optimal control of sunlight and energy. Arrangement The solar protection is available as horizontally or vertically arranged screens, and the latter can be supplied with horizontal or vertical louvres. The Solar control range has been developed to compliment Elegance 52 curtain walling and meet the ever increasing energy demands put on the building faade.

The basic principle common to all solar thermal (ST) systems is simple: solar radiation is collected and the resulting heat conveyed to a heat transfer medium. Solar thermal can be successfully applied to a broad range of heat requirements. Sapa Solar provides solutions to integrate these solar thermal systems directly into the building enveloppe. 12
