Masters Examination 29th and 30th October 2013

MASTERS EXAM DATE: The masters exam (ME) is going to take place on 29th and 30th October 2013. If youre not able to sit the exam in October, there is no need of registering or unregistering. Only registered students can participate in the ME. The next ME will take place in March/ April 2014. Youll receive separate information about that exam. FIRST and SECOND SUPERVISOR: You should be in regular contact with your first supervisor at least by now and inform him/her about the development of your masters thesis (MT). You have been assigned a second supervisor. A list of first and second supervisors is attached to this e-mail. FIRST HAND OVER: The MT which you have to upload using the CIS upload tool ( My CIS) by 15th September 2013 should be a ready version containing all parts, i.e. abstract, cover sheet, bibliography etc. This ist he version which will be assessed by your supervisor. After evaluating your MT the supervisor have to inform you about the mistakes (e.g. typing errorsm structure mistakes etc.) and elements which you must adjust. CLEARANCE FOR BINDING: If your MT is assessed as positive, youll receive an e-mail from the administrative assistant with the Clearance for binding. This means that you have to first adjust your MT and correct possible mistakes, then you should upload the final version of you MT as a PDF file ( My CIS, max. 15 MB, only one file possible), save it on a CD and have it bound (in a book). Please note: The PDF, CD and bound version must be identical! You have to hand in your MT bound as a book, which later on will be available for all students a tour library. You can have your MT bound at any printing office the UAS technikum Wien has no preference in this regard. Youll find further information in the attached file Handing_in_the_thesis. MASTERS EXAM: After having your MT bound and handing it in, there is only the masters exam to accomplish. The ME takes about 30 Minutes per candidate and consists of 3 parts (10 minutes/part): presentation of your MT, oral exam about the contents of your MT and other relevant subjects as well as technical oral exam. TECHNIAL (COMPLEMENTARY) EXAM: For this you have to choose a course of the MTI Curriculum with at least 6 ECTS credits or a combination of courses with altogether 6 ECTS credits. In addition the chosen subject must not have any thematic overlaps with the subject of your MT. You can suggest a course(s) or a lecturer per e-mail or personally with your registration for the ME, the Active Program Director will decide whether your suggestion is acceptable. Due to limited capacities we cannot guarantee that your examinator in the ME will be the one you suggested, but well do our best. If you wont suggest any cours/lecturer the Active Program Director will choose one for you according to the subject of your MT. In both cases youll be informed about your technical examinator with the clearance for binding at the latest. GRADUATION CEREMONY: 8th November 2013 celebrating time!
