BA Dog park is on `paws'

johnf@baledger.com The Broken Arrow dog park at 101st Street just east of Garnett Road is on hold for the moment as the city looks for the right design. "We're still working on the right design for it," said Stephanie Higgins, director of Communication for the City of Broken Arrow. Once completed, it will be the city's first dog park. The land was donated by Joan Dunham and developer Monte Dunham. "We have received many requests over the past several years from our residents for us to build a dog park," said Higgins in a news story last Nov. 2. "We were very fortunate to have the Dunham family donate this property for us to be able to develop this park." The land will be called Rose West Park and occupy five acres. The original site plan included separate fenced areas for small and large dogs.

`Extra clean'
JOHN FERGUSON/BA LEDGER SUNDAY SOAP The Veterans Park fountain at 1111 S. Main St. was recently professionally cleaned, but someone thought more was needed sometime Sunday Sept. 1.
