Document addendum

This section contains documentation that cannot be found anywhere else in the product documentation. Relay Configuration T ool compatibility Tool It is recommended not to modify the relay configuration saved with a newer Relay Configuration Tool version with an older tool version (of older CAP 505), since upwards compatibility of the tools is never guaranteed. In CAP 505 2.2.0-1 and later versions, for example, the Relay Configuration Tool has been modified to support the new virtual channels of REF 541/ 543/545. This may cause some compatibility problems, if a configuration modified with the new version of the Relay Configuration Tool is used with an older version of the tool. MMITEXT object in Relay Mimic Editor It is no longer possible to add a new MMITEXT object (dynamic point for texts) to a mimic picture. This object is not currently supported by any terminal type. Due to this, chapter 2.8 in the Relay Mimic Editor Configuration Guide is obsolete, and so are all the other references to the MMITEXT object in that manual.

Changes from previous version

Compared to the previous CAP 505 2.3.0 Add-On 6 release, the CAP 505 2.4.0 release includes the following improvements and corrections: Support added for the following terminals and r elays relays - REX 521, revision G - REU 610, revision A

General CAP 505 changes - The login dialog of CAP 505 is not shown any more on starting or closing the program, but instead the program is started directly in the Project Structure Navigator view. Information provided by the removed login dialog is now shown on the new About dialog started from the Help menu of the Project Structure Navigator. - The title and icon for the CAP 505 main window is improved. - Tooltips are added to the tools containing toolbars. - Support for the SPA communication protocol over a TCP/IP network has been added. The use of the SPA TCP/IP requires that an Ethernet adapter has been connected to the protection device.

Changes to the Pr oject Structur e Navigator Project Structure Introduction - The COM 610 gateway object type has been added. - Different object types (structurization items, gateways, different relay types) have their own icon representations in the project view. - Support for user-definable background colors of the project tree has been implemented. Separate view colors can be used to differentiate between separate projects and/or separate views of one project. - A file history list of the previously opened projects has beens added to the File menu of the Project Structure Navigator. It helps to quicikly open some recently used local project. - A toolbar button for the DR-Collector Tool has been added. - The relay object configuration dialogs are now placed on top of the Project Structure Navigator window, so they can not be lost behind all the other dialogs anymore. Changes to the System Configuration tool - It is now possible to select the baud rates 38400 and 57600 for a serial port. - It is now possible to change the value of the Header Timeout attribute of the SPA lines. The value defines the maximum waiting time in milliseconds within which the first byte of a response from the slave should have been received after the transmission of a message. - It is no longer possible to start the installation program for the LON adapter driver from the System Configuration tool. The driver installation must be done outside CAP 505.

Changes to the Communication Manager services - The upload time of the disturbance recordings from REJ 5xx, REU 5xx and REx 61x relays has been shortened. - If a data block was lost due to communication disturbance during the uploading of a REX 521 disturbance recording by the SPA file transfer, this previously cancelled the whole uploading process. Now the uploading is attempetd to be restarted from the breaking point after a 10 s time-out. - If the SPA password of the relay is not the default one, the user is asked to submit the password when e.g. downloading parameters. Previously it was not possible to enter a SPA password containing the number 0 (e.g. 40) into the password dialog.

Impr ovements to the RED Relay Setting T ool Improvements Tool Introduction - Support of bit-wise setting of the event masks has now been extended to the REF 541/543/545 rel. 3.0, RET 541/543/545 rel. 3.0 and REM 543/545 rel. 2.5 terminals. - The event mask dialog for REX 521 rev. E and later now also contains the event texts in addition to the event codes. - If, based on the registered time stamps, some parameter values have never been uploaded from the relay unit, a warning is shown before executing the download operation. - It is now possible to import all event masks at once, and the importing can also be canceled. - It is now possible to import only event mask values which differ from the values of the relay object. CD Contents Ordering CAP 505 CAP 505 accessories Document addendum Requirements Installation Changes from previous versions Corr ections to the T ransducer Linearization T ool Corrections Transducer Tool - Partial import of exported input linearizations is now allowed. All inputs having input mode parameter set will get values imported, and inputs not having input mode parameter set will have no values imported. - Entering only one line of data with a negative value used to cause an error. Delivery System Requirements Supported Devices

Corr ections to the SP ACOM modules Corrections SPACOM Invalid setting of 0V151 parameter for SPOC 110 has been fixed.
