On eastern boundary, Uttar Pradesh is situated. Gujarat lies on the southern boundary of Rajasthan. On the west side of the state, Pakistan is situated. There is a boundary line of 1070 kilometers between Rajasthan and Pakistan. Barmer, Bikaner,Ganganagar,and Jaiselmer are the districts of Rajasthan attached to Pakistan border. The total land boundary of Rajasthan is around 5920 kilometers. Jaiselmer is the largest district in area having a total area of 38401 sq. km. Dholpur is the smallest district in terms of area in Rajasthan. A total of 33 districts are there in the state of Rajasthan. Total 200 assembly seats are there in Rajasthan along with 25 parliamentary seats and 10 Rajya Sabha seats. Rajasthan have a total number of 192 sub-divisions having 244 tehsils. Jaipur have the maximum number of tahsils in Rajasthan. Jaiselmer have only three tehsils. There are 249 Panchayat Samatis in Rajasthan along with 9177 gram panchayats and 5 municipal corporations, A total of 13 muncipal councils are there in Rajasthan. 166 municipalities operate in Rajasthan. Rajasthan have a total of 1,89,034 Km of road network having 5722 km as highways.

3885.47 Km of broad gauge rail network along with 1710.78 Km of meterguage network can be found in Rajasthan and make a total of 5683.01 km of total rail network. Rajasthan have the capital as Jaipur. The city of Jaipur was founded by Sawai Jaisingh in the year of 1727. As per census of 2011, the total population of Rajasthan is 6,86,21,012 people, having 3,56,20,086 males and 3,30,00,926 females. In respect to population, the state is ranked 8th in the country. The density is about 201 persons per sq. km. 1,05,04,916 people are the children below the age of 6. Sex ratio of adult is 926 females per 1000 males and in child it is 883 females per 1000 males. Dungerpur is the region having highest ratio as 990 females per 1000 males and Dholpur having the minimum ratio as 845 females per 1000 males. A total of 24.89% of population is urban population which is about 170.81 Lakh people. 75.11% of population is rural population which in number is 515.40 Lakh. In the last decade, the population growth is about 21.44%.

At Jodhpur district of Rajasthan, The largest plant which is in private sector related to wind power production capable of producing 1200 Megawatt was decided. Rajasthan after beating Tamil Nadu on 23 Jan, 2012 won the Ranji Trophy for the second time. Prof. Arvind Pangadia, an NRI belonging to Bhilwara currently working as Professor of Economics at Columbia University was awarded Padam bhusan award on jan 25,2012. Rajasthan Sahitya Academy on 2 April 2012 awarded the following awards : o Meera Award to Ambika Dutt belonging to Kota for his work on Aavon Mein Barhon Mas o Sudhindra Award to Naresh Sharma for his Poetry o Dr. Rangey Raghav Award to Charan Singh. o Dr. Kanahiya Lal Sahal Award to Jitendra Nirmohi from Kota. o Sumnesh Joshi Award to Banaj kumar from Jaipur o Dr. Dev Raj Upadhyaya Award to Kundan Mali of Udaipur. Gulab Kothari author of Mein he Radha Mein he Kishan was awarded Murti Devi Award on 19 march, 2012 for the year 2011. On June 4, 2012, the tiger titled T-17 also known as Sundri at Ranthambore National park was spotted with her three cubs near the Rajbagh talab. The forest department notified the Buffer Zones on July 9,2012 of Sariska Tiger Reserve and Ranthambore National Park . As per the survey oin year 2012 by the airport Authorities, the Jaipur airport is ranked the best airport in the Country. At Barmer district of Rajasthan, the OIL found oil reserve for the first time in Rajasthan.

The Great Indian Desert.The surrounding States of Rajasthan are Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Utter Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab.The State of Rajasthan covers 10.4% of the total Indian Land. The thing about Rajasthan, that it also features two wildlife centuries specially for tigers known as Sariska Tiger Reserve and Ranthambore . Earlier Rajasthan was known as Rajputana which was later renamed as Rajasthan on 30 march 1949.The Aravali Range and the Thar desert constitutes the major portion about Rajasthans land. The Bikaner city is the biggest city in the Thar desert. The Desert national Park of Jaiselmer shows the extreme conditions in which an eco-system can operate in a maintained way.

There is a boundary line of 1070 kilometers between Rajasthan and Pakistan. Barmer, Bikaner,Ganganagar,and Jaiselmer are the districts of Rajasthan attached to Pakistan border. The total land boundary of Rajasthan is around 5920 kilometers. Jaiselmer is the largest district in area having a total area of 38401 sq. km. Dholpur is the smallest district in terms of area in Rajasthan. A total of 33 districts are there in the state of Rajasthan. Total 200 assembly seats are there in Rajasthan along with 25 parliamentary seats and 10 Rajya Sabha seats. Rajasthan have a total number of 192 sub-divisions having 244 tehsils. Sex ratio of adult is 926 females per 1000 males and in child it is 883 females per 1000 males. A total of 24.89% of population is urban population which is about 170.81 Lakh people. 75.11% of population is rural population which in number is 515.40 Lakh. Rajasthan Climate
