GENERAL SUMMARY
The Staff Clinician is responsible for providing clinical STD/HIV diagnostic and treatment services at Magnet. The position reports to
the Clinical Supervisor, who provides administrative supervision of clinical services, oversees service delivery and quality assurance,
and serves as the primary liaison to the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Clinical diagnosis and dispensing of medications
at Magnet occurs under the supervision and license of Magnet’s medical director. The Staff Clinician will diagnose and treat within the
scope of Magnet’s contracted services and his or her professional license. He or she also will support Magnet’s early HIV diagnosis
program efforts, involving provision of intermittent HIV/STD screening services at additional testing sites to be determined, with
additional duties to including comprehensive health assessments, limited clinical interventions, and referrals to community
agencies. The goals of this initiative are: 1) to enhance Magnet’s current HIV antibody and RNA testing to better identify those at
highest risk of early infection and 2) to provide periodic HIV antibody and RNA testing at an expanded array of SFAF sites,
including two South of Market sites as well as Magnet’s partner program, Stonewall. Schedule includes evening and Saturday
hours.
• Seeking Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician’s Assistant (PA), with current license required; mid-
level practitioner (NP or PA) preferred
• Minimum of one year’s experience providing clinical care related to STD/HIV-diagnosed patients preferred
• Familiarity with public health and/or wellness concerns of gay men
