Campus Information

The ISB campus has added a new landmark to the historical and Hi-tech city of Hyderabad. With beautifully landscaped gardens and elegant buildings, the campus has a highly functional design and a strong rationale to every aspect of the design. The academic, residential and recreational facilities at the campus are equal to those at the best business schools of the world.

The design of ISB provides many spaces, indoors and outdoors, large and small, formal and informal, where interaction between participants in the Executive Education Programmes, Professors and Staff will occur. The Learning Resource Centre (Library) provides an ambience to think and reflect. The layout of structures on campus draws from different forms of Indian architecture the Indianness is both subtle and obvious. The overall layout is a nine square grid, the traditional designs of temples and towns in India. The Central building is crowned with a dome. Slender towers mark the student villages at the two corners. The two towers around the central dome are symbolic of Mughal architecture. More obvious adaptations from traditional models include sunscreens of both stone and glass that recall the architecture of Fatehpur Sikri, and the geometric floor patterns throughout the complex. The main building on the ISB campus is the Academic Centre (AC). In the Academic Centre the auditorium, lecture rooms, meeting rooms, faculty offices, ISB administration, and main campus services are located. The Central cylindrical hub of the Academic Centre, hosts the library and the IT department. Right below this hub is the Atrium, social hub of the campus, providing space for shops, facilities and leisure. Functionally, the campus provides you with an ideal study environment with air-conditioned amphitheatres, meeting rooms and dining facilities. Around the Academic Centre, in between the Student Villages are the buildings which are housing Faculty, Visiting Faculty and Executives. Also there is a world-class Recreation Centre. All infrastructures at the ISB campus are designed to be state-of-the-art. High-speed broadband internet connectivity is available across the campus.

Accommodation
While you are staying on campus, Executive Housing reception will be happy to help if you have any problems with any housekeeping/maintenance issues. You may contact them on Extension numbers: 8920 / 8921/ 8922 from any phone within the campus

Recreation Centre
ISB provides world class facilities in the Recreation Centre. All facilities are complimentary during your stay. Recreation Centre is also equipped with a State of the Art Gym, Basket ball court, Billiards table & Carom Boards. Sports equipment is available at the Executive Housing reception for those who want to play the badminton, squash, table tennis and lawn tennis. Beside these, a trained Yoga instructor regularly offers classes between 6pm & 8pm. The Swimming Pool is located at recreation centre. Pool timings Weekdays: Weekends and Holidays:

0600 hrs to 1100 hrs and 1600 hrs to 2100 hrs 0600 hrs to 1300 hrs and 1600 hrs to 2100 hrs

Please Note: 1) Towels are not provided at the recreation centre. 2) Clothes and other personal belongings can be placed in the lockers.

Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre is the home of the library services. This holds a hybrid collection of printed as well electronic resources which include books, journals, databases, audio-visuals, CDs/DVDs, e-books, ejournals, reports, case studies, conference proceedings, training manuals, etc. You may use the library for reference. Timings for access are: Monday - Sunday 8.00 a.m-2.00 am *Please wear your name tag to access and use all facilities

Messages
Messages Phone, Fax All incoming Faxes will go directly to your room. Send outgoing faxes through front desk at the Executive Housing. PC Facilities
In all breakout rooms, there are networked PCs available. These will enable you to access your emails. Laptops can be configured in the classroom.

E-Mail Connectivity
If your e-mail account resides on your companys e-mail server, you should request your companys IT/technical team to enable http access. Some of our participants who use VPN / Web mail connectivity to login to their network have been unable to reach their company e-mail accounts from off-site due to firewalls or other security restrictions which are in place on either of the servers. You may wish to set your employer or commercial e-mail account to forward to a web based free e-mail account while you are at the ISB, if you would otherwise encounter technical difficulties or high phone costs. This will allow you to use a web browser on any of the ISBs desktop computers to send and receive e-mail. At ISB the access to SMTP & POP3 port is denied for all due to security policies in place. Hence you are requested to arrange for VPN / Web mail / Auto Forward feature of your company mails to be enforced in order to avoid any slippage of important communications. Numerous companies offer web-based free e-mail accounts that can be accessed using a web browser on any computer with internet access. Generally these companies provide you with an e-mail address, space on their server to hold your e-mail, and the capability to send and receive e-mail messages through a specially designed webpage for that purpose. The may also provide other services such as e-mail account forwarding. Two of the most well-known companies are MSN Hotmail (www.hotmail.com) and Yahoo (http://mail.yahoo.com).

Laptops
For utilising your laptops to access your own e-mail account/internet using (VPN / Web mail connectivity) during your stay at Indian School of Business, each bedroom has an Ethernet jack for laptop users, as well as a phone line for Voice calls or laptop modem use. Laptop users with Ethernet cards may utilize an Ethernet jack in their bedroom or the study group rooms. Internet access for your laptop will be enabled during your period of stay ISB subject to all of the following points. Your laptop has antivirus software installed with all the latest updates for the antivirus found to be available on your laptop (or) we are allowed to install an antivirus application on your laptop. Your laptop is found to be virus free. Your MAC / physical address is provided to the ITCS to add to our network management server.

If your Ethernet-equipped laptop is appropriately configured for our networks DHCP IP Addressing, you should be able to follow the directions below to connect it to the internet using an ISBs Ethernet jack Connect your Ethernet cable into the Ethernet card on your laptop and into the wall jack marked network or data. Start up your laptop. Use your web browser to see if you are already connected to the Internet. If you are not, follow these additional steps: Select Start, Go to Settings, Go to Control Panel. Open Network Connections Icon. Under the configuration tab, select properties then TCP/IP -> for your Ethernet card by double clicking on this entry. In the properties window, under IP Address, select Obtain an IP address automatically. Click OK to close the TCP/IP window, and then again to close the Network Control Panel. If your Ethernet card equipped laptop is appropriately configured for DHCP IP addressing, you should now be connected to the internet.

Laptop users with modem cards may utilize the phone jack in their bedroom, in order to dial up to their own Internet Service Provider (employer or commercial). In your bedroom, the same charges apply to dialling from your laptop modem as from the voice phone. You should configure your modem to dial 9 to get an outside line, then to dial the appropriate external modem line.

Technical Support
ISBs IT-Helpdesk can assist you with basic laptop connectivity, but are unable to provide technical support for laptop computer. We will be happy to refer you to a local computer service vendor for laptop technical support if necessary. If you or your companys technical support team has any questions, they should e -mail execcomputing@exchange.isb.edu for further information. If you need IT technical assistance with our computer facilities while you are at the ISB, please notify your program manager or the IT-helpdesk to request assistance. The ISBs IT -Helpdesk is located in AC9 L5 and available at Ext: 7555 / 7556

Business Centre
A Business Centre is available near the reception area of Executive Housing, which has a photocopier, fax and Internet access.

Breakfast, Lunch& Dinner will be served at Bajaj Dining hall at courtyard level *Please refer to detailed schedule for exact times

Bar*
There is a Bar at Executive Housing, opposite the main reception area Last Order: 9:45 P.M Closing Time: 10:00 P.M *PYOB Pay your own bills

Wellness Centre
ISB has a wellness Centre run by Apollo Hospitals (Adjacent to the Recreation Centre) The physician will be available between 10.00 am to 12.00 noon and 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm, Monday Saturday. You are requested to fix appointments after checking his schedule, in case of any requirement. Nursing Services are available for 24 hours on all days. Apollo Ambulance services can also be accessed for Medical Emergencies (Call 1066). The pharmacy stocks limited OTC medicines only. Hence, you are requested to carry your medical kits with special medicinal requirements, if any, to ISB.

Travel Desk

Mail

Book Store
Academic books and stationary are displayed and will be available for individual purchase. Also sells merchandise including t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, pens, etc. Cash or credit cards are accepted.
