Welcome to the ultimate guide to Trent Snowsports 2012/2013. Here you will find all you need to know about who we are and what we get up to throughout the year. From complete beginners to aspiring pros we welcome everyone to come along to our weekly trips, socials, events and holidays and be a part of the best sports club Trent has to offer!

To kick off the year Trent Snowsports will be holding a FREE BBQ at our second home also known as RIDE. This will be a great way to meet new people, getting to know the new and old members of Trent Snowsports. Its also a chance for the committee to get to know you, and you to

get to know everyone who is a part of the club. Well have our amazing SMASHBOX DJing and a tonne of FREE food . Bring your friends, flatmates or anyone else you wish. Whether youre a skier, snowboarder, snow enthusiast or none of the above; come on down!

The place I first learnt to Ski and first raced. Fact: Im fully Italian and can speak it. I am petrified of cows and balloons being popped. Also managed to break both my wrists at the same time, Im now Titanium!

WEEKLY TRIPS, SOCIALS


Sign ups are at RIDE BAR every Monday & Tuesday between 1.00pm3.00pm, Come along and sign up to the events during the week and book your place because places go fast, also a great chance to have a drink with the committee! Every Wednesday evening we hold a weekly social to gather snow sport enthusiasts together and have a jolly old time. Our social starts off at 8:30pm at RIDE bar (opposite Pizza Hut on Corner house,) we then go onto Walkabout and end the night in OCEAN with all the other clubs and societies. We also hold weekly trips

and training sessions at a variety of dry slopes and snow domes for our members. Trent snowsports wants to give everybody the opportunity to take part in the freshest sport around. Whether you want to ski and/or snowboard we supply weekly trips every Wednesday afternoon to Halifax dry slope where you can be a part of the legendary sport. Leaving from outside Boots library around 1:30pm we pile onto a coach and head to Halifax where beginners- intermediates can have a 2 hour lesson/session, followed by some fun and games then dropped back at Uni in time for our weekly evening social with all the other sports clubs and societies. Competitions. BUDS is an awesome weekend of competing, partying, and mingling with other Universities and fellow snow sport lovers. In preparation for these events we run weekly trips to Halifax dry slope and Ackers Ski Slope throughout the week, to practise our turns and have a bit of fun. Gina our race captain is on hand to help out and we encourage everyone to have a go even if you have never seen race poles or slalom! indoor freestyle set ups. If you are an aspiring pro or a complete beginner, skier or boarder, then this is your chance to get involved, try your hand at a variety of tricks and hangout with some likeminded people. It is a great way to spend a Thursday or Friday

RACING
Throughout the year we attend race competitions, giving our skiers and boarders who crave that need for speed, the chance to represent their Uni in races against other Universities throughout the country. The year kicks off when we head to the highlands for our annual BUDS (British Universities Dry Slope) competition and KINGS

FREESTYLE
Every week in first term on Thursday or Friday late afternoon/evenings we take a trip to Castleford, Tamworth, Milton Keynes and Hemel Hampstead Snowdome to try out tricks on their

evening and for people wanting to join our freestyle team a chance to get practising! Trips are also organised to a gymnasium where youll have the chance to play around on the trampolines and improve your freestyle skills. We are always on the lookout

for people wanting to join our team; we attend competitions throughout the year starting with BUDS up in Edinburgh. If you fancy yourself as a freestyler get in touch with our freestyle captain Sophie who will answers all your needs.

GYMNASTICS (FREESTYLE TRAINING)


We run regular trips to RUSHCLIFFE indoor leisure centre. The centre offers fantastic facilities with indoor

trampolines and foam pits that enable you to practice tricks in the air and take them from the trampolines to the kickers! Sessions are held on Mondays, all abilities are welcome to come and have a bounce about to improve your airtime awareness!

FIRST SOCIAL - WED 3RD OCTOBER


The first Wednesday of term is a big one! Well be spending the afternoon at Halifax Dry Slope where you can try your hand at skiing or snowboarding, restore your skills or just chill out for a couple of hours on the dry slopes. After a quick beverage or two in the bar well be heading back

with just enough time to go home, get changed and head down to Walkabout for our first social. Our Social Secs will be selling tickets for Ocean on the night and well party at Walkabout until its time for a dip in OCEAN. Everyone is welcome so bring your friends along as well! There might even be a few prizes up for grabs. Join the Trent Snowsports Facebook group for info on signups for the weekly Halifax trips and socials. TRENT competitors on the stunning hills of Scotland. Well leave on the Thursday night by coach travelling up to Edinburgh in the traditional Trent Snowsports fashion. CHRISTMAS TRIP 7TH - 15TH DECEMBER


The legendary Christmas trip this year is taking place in Tignes. After the incredible holiday we had last year we

couldnt resist the promise of another amazing week in the Alps. Snow lovers of all abilities are welcome, with lessons and workshops available, along with activities for everybody including Tobogganing and a BBQ in the mountains. Get ready to party with a different fancy dress every night. An epic experience not to be missed! For ONLY 329!!!
