MY LIFE IN STOCKHOLM

I started to spend more time in Stockholm in 2009 and now spend several months there every year. I fell in love with the city right away! Stockholm feels so crisp and clean with great food and lovely, beautiful and charming people who all speak fluent English and are always well dressed! The Swedes are enormously talented in fashion, music and art, which is why I get along so well with everyone there. When I arrived, the people of Stockholm made me feel at home right away and Ive made many new friends. During the week (particularly in the winter) Swedes tend to work hard and stay home which allows me to focus on working on lots of tracks when Im in Stockholm. However, on the weekend they like to party hard and forget about how hard they worked during the week. In Stockholm, there are a large number of clubs all in walking distance from the center of the city where I stay.

All of these clubs are amazing with great music and great atmosphere. Theres also a more alternative part of the city called Sodermalm that plays host to great indie artists and more underground and artistic performances. These days there are so many great fashion brands in Sweden so its a great place to shop for stuff you cant find anywhere else in the world. Theres no doubt that the Swedes set trends when it comes to fashion - you can always spot new trends when youre in Ostermalm or Sodermalm. The women of Stockholm are the most beautiful in the world. Every girl looks like a model but in real life theyre just educated citizens with regular jobs. The guys are really good looking as well and also well educated or...theyre DJs! As you may know, there are many great DJs who live in Stockholm and Im glad Ive had the chance to get to know all of them. Holland and Sweden have both produced fantastic DJs and spending so

much time in Stockholm, I feel Im like the bridge between Holland and Sweden. My Dutch roots heavily influence my style of music but since Ive lived in Stockholm now for a few years, the Swedish sound has become a big influence as well. Over the years, Ive had the opportunity to meet so many great musicians and DJs and Im incredibly grateful for that because theyve taught me a lot and they also inspired me to do things different. On this compilation you can hear the influence of the new generation of Dutch and Swedish DJs. When I listen back to this mix and the tracks that I produced and remixed, it takes me back to special places and very fond memories of Stockholm. I feel like I became a little bit Swedish over the years and I can honestly say that Stockholm will always be in my heart.

Tiesto & Dyro Paradise This track is such a perfect introduction for this compilation. Its beautiful, dreamy, and always reminds of that one special person who I met in Stockholm. Tiesto Take Me ft. Kyler England I am really proud of this track. It has beautiful vocals and production. I love the lyrics as well! Its beautifully melancholic, but still super uplifting! Baggi Begovic Compromise Great track by Baggi. This guy has a lot of talent and always makes it on my mix compilations. Hardwell Apollo ft. Amba Shepherd (Club Life Edit) My Dutch brother from my hometown delivered one of my favorite tracks of the year. Best one he has ever made. Its kind of trancy with beautiful vocals. To me, this is how trance should sound in 2013. And he made a special edit just for this album. Tiesto, Mark Alston, Baggi Begovic, & Jason Taylor Love and Run ft. Teddy Geiger I worked with a lot of people on this track. It got started in New York and then finished it in Holland with Baggi Begovic. The vocal is very special, and Im really happy with the result. Zedd Clarity (Tiesto Remix) I love the original, so when Zedd asked me to remix it, I jumped in right away. The way I produced the drop was a new style of producing for me. Im so glad so many people like it. Calvin Harris Sweet Nothing (Tiesto & Ken Loi Re-Remix) This is the second remix I did of the same track. The first version was great, but now Ken Loi and I added some high energy drops to make it more of a big room festival anthem! Icona Pop I Love It (Tiesto Club Life Remix) This track has been huge in Stockholm over the last year. It was everywhere! Naturally, when I hear it, I think of Stockholm. I didnt like the remixes that came out so I decided to make a new one especially for the Stockholm compilation. I must say, I LOVE IT Passion Pit Carried Away (Tiesto Remix) Ive always loved Passion Pit. I love indie vocals, so Im very proud that I succeed in putting the Tiesto sound on top of their work! Moguai Champs This track is so catchy! When you hear the melody you cant stop smiling and trying to sing along. The best track Moguai has ever made. One Republic Lose Myself Tonight (Alesso Remix) This song is so beautiful! Done by one of the heroes of Stockholm, Alesso. He is a good friend of mine, and I am so proud to see him go from an unknown DJ a few years ago, having drinks with me in Stockholm, to an internationally known DJ and producer! Pelari Cango Another track from Stockholm! Its a great DJ mix tool that always gets people going. Tiesto & Calvin Harris Century (Tiesto & Moska Remix) I always wanted to remix this track with Calvin, so when Moska asked me if we could do it together I said, yes right away! Its a nice mix of being really hard with emotional breaks. Tiesto & DJ Punish Shocker DJ Punish is a very talented Dutch producer/DJ mainly known in Holland (for now). I tried to balance all the softer stuff on this mix with some really hard bangers at the end of it. Thats the main reason why I did this track with him. I wanted to represent the harder Dutch sound, which is great for festivals and for later on in the night! Tiesto & MOTi Back To The Acid For this track we tried to go back to the beginning of my DJ career and make an old school ACID track with old school vocals to bring yall back to the 90s! It is also very good for big shows and festivals. Coupled with Shocker, this is one of the hardest tracks Ive ever made! Tiesto Quintino Alvaro United (Tiesto & Blasterjaxx Remix) This is old school meets new school. The melodic parts of the track are very old school Tiesto trance. It has a great melody that will bring you back to how I played at the beginning of 2000. The drop is very current, fresh, and hard. The original mix is great and subtler. I did this remix with two talented young guys from Holland, which is why this combination of old and new school is so clearly evident in this track.
