Abstract: To deal with the special operational environment of a certain marine diesel engine and the problems of field data
acquisition, the overall design proposal of the data acquisition system is presented, which is composed of host computer and slave
computer. The ARM 32-bit Cortex-M3 Single chip Microcomputer STM32 is considered as microcontroller of the slave computer,
and the signal processing circuits are designed. Photoelectric coupling technology is applied to design the interface circuit to improve
the anti-interference performance of the data acquisition system. The experiment results indicate that the system parameters are
obtained exactly without interrupting the normal work procedures of the system. It is concluded that the developed data acquisition
system meets the requirement of field data acquisition for the given marine diesel engine.
Key words: Chip Microcomputer; diesel engine; data acquisition; photoelectric coupling; anti-interference
