Robert Welch R.D.I., M.B.E., Robert Welch appointed Royal Designer to Industry, was one of Britains leading industrial designers of the 20th Century. After training at the Royal College of Art he specialised in stainless steel production design, establishing a company in his own name

Signature knives
We have worked with professional chefs to develop a range of knives that give you comfort in the hand and the optimum cutting action. Each knife has been individually constructed for its specic task in food preparation.The handles and blades are set at the best angle to minimise fatigue. Full tang for extra strength The cutting edge
Each blade is honed and tempered to razor sharpness using World Edge Geometry inspired by master sword craftsmen from Japan, producing a precision blade edge for effortless cutting and slicing. The Signature knives feature a full tang, which means the metal extends the full length of the handle this adds strength, durability and balance.The handles are made from a Dupont material and moulded precisely on to the full tang. Robotic technology ensures each handle matches perfectly and all joints and surfaces are carefully nished and checked to prevent the risk of food particles being trapped.

Weight
The Signature knives feature a weighted bolster which ensures pleasing balance in the hand.

Fully forged
Fully forged and robotically engineered, the Robert Welch Signature knives are manufactured from German DIN1,4116 stainless steel and hardened to Rockwell 55-56.

Scalloped blade detail

A special feature of the Santuko blade is the scalloped details. This enables the blade to glide through even the most delicate foods, with minimum drag.

Signature knife Block

The Robert Welch Signature Knife Block is designed to store up to 6 knives plus a Steel or the Knife Sharpener. Knife sharpener
Each knife block contains the innovative Robert Welch Signature knife sharpening mechanism as an alternative to the Sharpening Steel. convenient and safe to use, it fits securely into the centre slot of the block.

Internal magnet feature

The Robert Welch Signature knife block has been designed for ease of use when inserting and removing your knives. A magnetic locator in each slot prevents damage to the blade edge when inserting or removing the knives from the slots.

Honing/Sharpening your knife blade edge with the Robert Welch knife sharpening mechanism
Designed for ease of use: 10-12 gentle strokes from heel to tip, through the sharpening wheel on a regular basis will keep the blade edges in optimal condition. (Please note: it is not recommended you sharpen serrated blades.)

Signature Utensils
We have designed our Signature utensils to combine functionality in the kitchen with the aesthetics of fine tableware. Made of 18/10 stainless steel. Life time guarantee and dishwasher safe.

Resting position
The hook base has been engineered to provide stability when set on a flat surface.

Each Signature utensil head has been designed for its specific use. We have carefully studied each specific task to maximise ease of use.

Utensil stand design

When the stand is loaded with the utensils, they form a halo of echoed shapes around the clean lines of the stand. This hidden handle feature allows the stand to be picked up and moved with ease.

Wall rack features

The Signature utensil wall hanging racks are available in 40cm and 60cm lengths and are easy to fix with screw fittings and instructions supplied. The mirrored back plate is designed to reflect the sculptured forms of the utensil hooks.
