TV Senior Producer - News U.S. Global TV Network Jerusalem, Israel $70,000 to $86,000+ w/ exceptional benefits and relocation The Senior Producer is responsible for the journalistic and creative development, production, content quality of each show, constructing fresh, informative, creative, compelling shows, ensuring balanced content consistent with the mission goals of the company. The Senior Producer Maintains the creative vision and look and feel of programs aligned with the departments vision. The Senior Producer is responsible for overseeing the gathering, writing and producing of each show and will lead and produces new and innovative productions. This Sr. Producer will mentors and serve as a resource to junior members of the staff as they demonstrate strong news judgment; ensure journalistic standards of fairness, accuracy and relevancy. This Sr. Production position is central to the successful ongoing operation of assigned programs and to maintaining company broadcast standards.

Duties

Develops reports, features, and monitors news events. Take direction from Editor in Chief. Supervises all show staff members. Supervises and coordinate all preproduction planning. Supervises overall production activities; watch edited time lines and suggest improvements and/or changes. Assigns reporters and correspondents to features and reports per editor in chief. Delivers completed stories to Intl News Bureau HQ in Washington, DC Manages the weekly plan as directed by Intl News Bureau HQ in Washington, DC per the Editor in Chief. Works with writers on script development and format. Approves changes. Helps director as needed. Ensures that all production details are completed, including graphics and chyrons. Provides control room with information regarding the timing and content of all completed programs. Maintains composure. Oversees post-production and approve final edits. Coordinates with promotions department to create promotional materials. Evaluates programs to ensure that objectives are met. Works closely with Anchor for smooth daily operations. Supervise performance and development of assigned broadcast team members; this may include anchors, producers, writers, associate producers and production assistants. Provide appropriate and timely on-going performance feedback to assigned team members

Special Duties

Determine the shows vision and showcase major stories. Assign and edit stories to writers on the team. Contributes story ideas on a daily, weekly and long-range basis. The Sr. Producer may be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by events, circumstances and global news activity.

Required

Bachelors degree in journalism or broadcast journalism. 5 7 years of experience producing television newscasts. Must be able to communicate and translate from English to classic Arabic. Must have discretion, maturity and composure especially under pressure. Must be able to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines. Must be a strong, clear communicator with the ability to communicate with multiple teams is required. Must be able to present excellent project ideas in a cohesive and content specific manner. Must be able to adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in fast-paced environment. Must be deadline driven and detail-oriented a strategic critical thinker. Must have working knowledge and ability to operate media asset management system. Must be able to thrive in an environment requiring teamwork. Must have good creative and editorial judgment. Must be able to work under intense deadline pressure. Must exercise self-discipline and time-management skills. Must have sound editorial and creative judgment is required. Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment including overnight coverage.

before posting on the website. To assign the most important news stories on a daily basis and manage reporters writing breaking news, special reports, analysis and investigative reports. Incumbent selects, writes and edits news stories for websites that are of interest to a Pan-Arab audience and meets the editorial standards of The Networks. The Assignment Editor also will creatively conceive and direct web-exclusive content that enhance the brand as a destination for news online

Duties

Generate original news content / articles in a variety of journalistic forms with original sources and deep research. To assign the most important news stories on a daily basis and manage reporters writing breaking news, special reports, analysis and investigative reports. To monitor major competitor news sites, Middle East blogs and analytics to anticipate stories that will garner large audiences. To demonstrate uncommon leadership ability to organize and motivate large teams. To demonstrate initiative in thinking of new story forms, editorial campaigns by constantly suggesting fresh ideas and approaches to improve our mission. This includes regularly demonstrating critical thinking and problem solving skills. Translate and edit the news from Radio and TV Newsrooms and wire services as assigned by the Editorial Director and Assignment / Shift Editor. All news, features, interviews, photos and actualities must be well organized, grammatically accurate, timely, balanced and of the highest professional standards. Select, write and edit all news stories in a timely and balanced style that reflects the highest professional standards for a website format.

Description

Ensure that content is free from any Arabic terms that carry opinion or are politically sensitive. Such terms must be replaced by neutral terms as directed by the Web Supervisor. Ensure that all material published on the site is checked for accuracy, typos, and technical errors prior to publication. Select and display news on the site that is balanced, and free from advocacy of a position or point of view. Ensure that style and content of all materials conform to the guidelines contained in the Radio Network Stylebook, Digital Style Book and Journalistic Code of Ethics to assure that complex issues are presented in a journalistically balanced manner. Ensure all stories are accurate, well organized and grammatically accurate including news scripts, photographs, features and interviews. Constantly monitor competitor websites and broadcasters as well as utilize online trends and analytics data to make the best analysis as to which topics will bring in new audiences. Maintain a knowledge of current Middle East, international and US events Seek and develop original stories to complement and enrich the material received from the news desk. Prepare original material with background information to increase the readers comprehension of the news. Re-write stories obtained from wire services using original leads (not copied leads) that are coherent, concise and reflect the essence of the story. Monitor various news sources to supplement news available from the newsroom and wire services, including the American. Israeli and Arab press, with special attention to Arab satellite channels to follow developing stories and live coverage for breaking news. Immediately correct any mistake that get published on the site; review process to identify cause of mistake to eliminate future occurrences. Master use of Dalet, Team News, Oasis, Facebook, Twitter, Google, YouTube products and other digital systems relevant to producing quality journalism in the modern age.

To regularly raise the spirit of teamwork and morale by holding the highest professional standards and by exhibiting a strong work ethic on all projects. To regularly use online analytics, data and social media to monitor ongoing trends and regional online conversations, striving to increase traffic, engagement and impact.

Required

BA Degree, preferably in Journalism, English or Translation; or significant relevant professional experience 3 - 5 years professional writing experience, preferably in news editing, writing or translation Mastery of Arabic and English and ability to write for the Web effectively in Arabic. Thorough practical knowledge of Arabic grammar is evident in drafting and editing. Ability to translate English to Arabic and vice versa. Proficiency in the use of standard Windows-based software and the Internet; ability to be trained in the technical systems relevant to the web operation, including Dalet, TeamNews, photos, audio files, and the effective use of the Admin Tool Competency in modern journalism tools including Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Google, YouTube. Ability in photo and video software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro a bonus. Demonstrate a well-informed understanding of Middle East current events and familiarity with international developments. Ability to provide a quality, error-free product on time and thrive under constant deadline pressures. Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment.

Guest Producer TV Network Washington DC , Maryland and Virginia area - USA $56,000 to $86,000+ w/ exceptional benefits and relocation The Guest Producer creatively creates story and guest ideas, pitches them to other staff members like the executive producer and the host/anchor and secures the guests appearance. The Guest Producer researches the topic and the guest and prepares interview questions. On the day of the appearance, incumbent ensures their arrival on the set and serves as a news room ambassador during the guests stay at the Network.

Duties

Maintain steady contact with assignment desk to anticipate and determine appropriate guests for interviews Maintain a current network of contacts for a variety topics and points-of views to be contacted for support of live or taped programming Activate contact network to ensure balanced guest representation for every guest segment Quickly find contacts for phone interviews in response to breaking news Monitor show rundowns to stay apprised and ensure guest is in position and ready at the right time. Coordinate transportation and other arrangements for guests to ensure they are in place and ready for air. Extend a formal thank you letter/note on behalf of the network to each guest within one week of their appearance. Complete guest honorarium at the end of each month, submit to business manager for prompt payment to guest Perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by news events and circumstances
