This is an early mid level leadership, coordination and management position responsible for coordination and management of the project activities in the district that includes education and child protection programme planning and implementation, coordination, and monitoring and reporting of the project outcomes. The District Project Coordinator guided by the management, will ensure that project results are of high quality and consistent with the approach of Plan and the log frame for the project. She/he will contribute in developing coordination, monitoring and reporting capacities, initiating and emphasizing upon the use of tools/guidelines, collective and synergized actions and systems/processes for advocacy and monitoring and supervising project activities by
partners. Dimensions of Role: See Section 7a Project Coordinator: She/he will report to the PUM ECCD in Protective Environment: he/she will maintain close coordination with Plans partners and key education related duty-bearers and other stakeholders in their district. Projects
implementation: Project Planning: Provide technical support (in ECCD in Protective Environment) to the planning processes especially for project activities in the district to the implementing partners. Financial Management: Manage financial matter and record related to project activities in the district in line with the policies and procedures of Plan. Ensure timely implementation and reporting of budgeted activities and also that timely spending is reflected as activities get completed. Prepare financial reports as and when required. Donor Liaison and reporting: Assist the PUM in carrying out donor liaison and reporting where necessary. Document project learning and best practices. Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with local district government, communities, and Plans field-based staff, implementing partners staff and associates and government representatives. Development Sector and the NGO relations: Develop good rapport and information/communication sources with all key education and ECCD related duty bearers /stakeholders and NGOs (local/national and international) present in the project area. Field Monitoring: Carry out regular field visits on behalf of the PUM to assess effectiveness of the ECCD project Partner Management: Monitor the implementing partners progress against objectives and deliverables; identify achievements, constraints and potential bottlenecks (if relevant) and seek solutions.
Security: Keep up to date with security conditions on the ground and implement suitable security measures to ensure safety of the Plans staff and projects assets. Establishing Networks: Establish networking and operational linkages of the project with the relevant public, education/social sector key stakeholders at the district and provincial levels for undertaking advocacy on critical issues/areas identified by the project to support the interventions. Also network with appropriate institutions/organizations and build alliances that further enhance the positive impact of the project, both at district and provincial levels.
Technical support: Provide technical support to partner in implementation of the project activities. Coordinate with partner, PU and CO to ensure program quality

Fluency in oral and written English is essential.
Computer proficiency is essential (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Outlook etc.) Good networking and partnership skills. Good communication skills (speaking, writing, presenting) and report writing skills. Organizing, planning and time management skills.
Demonstrated competence in education and Child Right sectors is required. Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English. Knowledge of local languages considered a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills and relevant software packages. Efficiency in meeting commitments and deadlines to achieve target results. Ability to plan and organize work by identifying priority activities and adjusting priorities as required. Ability to apply good judgments to resolve conflicts/issues.
