Important information for Seniors and Parents/Guardians of Seniors:

We are looking forward to a strong finish for this truly exceptional group of young men and women in the Class of 2013! In preparation, please read this document closely and ensure that every student who intends to graduate on June 6 at 7:00 p.m. is aware of ALL of the following: Grosse Ile High School and the Grosse Ile School Board require graduating students to attend school through May 29, with Senior Recognition Day the morning of May 30. Note: Senior Recognition Day is NOT open to the public. Senior exams are May 24-29. No exams are to be taken prior to May 24. There are no exceptions unless the student and teacher receive prior written approval by Administration due to an unavoidable conflict for the student. Seniors who miss an assigned exam time due to an excused or required absence will need to make up the exam during the school day on May 30 or May 31 at a time determined by the teacher, unless the exam can be made up during regularly scheduled class time on May 28-29. Attendance is required and counts every day up to and including May 29. Students that exceed allowed absences for any class (ten) are required to make up time or lose credit for that class (see postscript below). All time owed must be made up by 3pm on Friday, May 31. Seniors that miss their assigned exam time for an unexcused absence (skip) will receive a zero on the exam, which could result in loss of credit for the course. (see postscript below) Participation in the graduation ceremony is a privilege, not a right. In order to participate in graduation, all of the following must be true: 1. The student has earned a diploma or certificate of attendance; 2. The student has completed all necessary coursework, credits, and requirements (including making up time, returning texts, paying fees and fines, serving detentions, etc.) by 3pm on May 31,

3. The student's behavior is in good standing -- students whose behavior is inappropriate per the student handbook may not be allowed to participate at the discretion of Administration. The code of conduct is in effect at all times when the student is on school property or at a school event, including the ceremony itself. 4. The student attended the graduation rehearsal (or was excused for a verified and unavoidable reason such as hospitalization or court order). Work is NOT an unavoidable reason. 5. The student is wearing proper and appropriate attire as will be explained to the students at rehearsal. Class of 2013 Graduation Rehearsal (Mandatory):
