Elegant Leaf Table Runner

By Patty Dunn (from page 43)

Using

sheer fabric in
home decorating
adds an elegant touch to your
surroundings. This organza
table runner is designed with
a simple leaf pattern in 3D
and traditional appliqu. The
technique uses decorative
stitching and a wing needle.
If you are new to wing
needlework, this project will
be an adventure that will open
new horizons in sewing for
you. It can be used in appliqu,
applying laces, making
entredeux or just decorative

stitching for embellishment.

The key to wing needlework is
choosing a natural fabric and
a decorative stitch that returns
to pierce the same hole at least
once.
