CJCS Standing EXORD. Relationship
will remain in place for the present
• A 500 NM line in the Atlantic would
impractically put Bermuda in the EUCOM
AOR and change direction abruptly toward
Puerto Rico
• Caribbean line drawn to exclude as many
nations/islands as possible to avoid
distracting NORTHCOM from main
mission of HLD/CS
• Cuba included due to proximity and
potential threat. SOUTHCOM provides
contingency planning, operations, and
force protection per UCP
