With reference to your request under RTI Act, 2005, I am to inform you that Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The examination is conducted on all India basis to avoid multiplicity of examination for admission to Technical Courses in National Institute of Technologies (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technologies (IITs), Central Universities and Deemed Universities and also the State Level Institutions who opted to take part in this examination. The Implementation Committee appointed by the Board for conduct of AIEEE govern the rules and regulations, eligibility criteria including age and relaxation to various categories of students in accordance with the policies and instructions of the Government of India from time to time. Number of qualified students who were recommended for counselling in all categories on the basis of their performance in AIEEE 2007 were 97557. Number of students who got One or more marks in AIEEE 2007 under PH/disable categories were 3073. The cut off marks for AIEEE 2007 for PH/disabled students in all caste, categories etc were 18 or more marks for admission through Central Counselling Board. 2127 PH/handicapped/disabled students who scored marks as prescribed above were declared Eligible for Central Counselling in all streams.
