A General Overview
This is a summary of the Cola®Lube product line with a brief product description of each
product. We have also highlighted product properties and application areas.
Cola®Lube 3402 - The base for this low foaming alkanolamide is lard oil. The
product is dispersible in water, forming a chemical emulsion. 3402 has excellent
corrosion protection and by nature of its chemical make up, contributes to anti-wear
properties. This Cola®Lube can be readily formulated for use in synthetic, semi-
synthetic, and oil based metalworking fluids.
Cola®Lube 3403 - This product has the ability to thicken water. Because of this
unique property, desired viscosities can be obtained by controlling the concentration of
the product. Therefore, 3403 should be considered for water based drawing
compounds.
Cola®Lube 3407 - This product is a complex long chain, aliphatic phosphate ester
that has been designed for use in a variety of metal working fluid applications. It provides
excellent performance as an extreme pressure and lubricity additive, emulsifier, and rust
inhibitor. It can be readily formulated into synthetic, semi-synthetic and soluble oil
systems that are useful in cutting, grinding and hydraulic fluids, rolling oils, and liquid
drawing compounds.

performance. It will also contribute to rust protection and can easily be formulated into
synthetic, semi-synthetic, soluble oil and straight oil based systems for use in ferrous,
non-ferrous and stainless steel metal working applications. The product is supplied in the
free acid form and does not contain any heavy metals.
Cola®Lube 3409 - This product is a polyglycol monoester, based on lauric acid and
polyethylene glycol 400. As a component in metal working fluids, this material
contributes lubricity and EP properties while acting as an oil emulsifier. It can therefore
be effectively utilized in soluble oil as well as semi-synthetic or synthetic systems. It is
especially recommended as a co-emulsifier that is complementary to anionic emulsifiers
used in soluble oil bases. The recommended use level for 3409 is 2-5% for most
metalworking applications.
Cola®Lube 3411 - 3411 EPL is a polyglycol monoester based on oleic acid and
polyethylene glycol 600. This product contributes excellent lubrication and EP properties
and also acts as an oil emulsifier. Because of its multifunctional properties, low color,
and excellent heat stability, 3411 is an ideal component for metalworking fluids, including
semi-synthetic and synthetic cutting and grinding fluids, drawing and stamping
compounds, and other similar formulations. For most of these applications, 3411 is
effective at a 2.5% level.
Cola®Lube 3413 - This polyglycol diester is based on tall oil fatty acid and
polyethylene glycol 600. Because of its two hydrocarbon chains and its high molecular
weight, 3413 provides outstanding lubrication and EP properties while at the same time
acting as a moderately low HLB emulsifier. Having solubility in both paraffinic and
naphthenic oils, it is especially recommended for use in soluble oil systems but it is also
effective as a lubricant in semi-synthetic and synthetic metalworking fluids. The
recommended use level of 2-5% will depend on the specific formulation and
performance criteria.
Cola®Lube 3414 - This polyglycol monoester is based on tall oil fatty acid and
polyethylene glycol 600. The product has been shown to be a cost-effective component
product in metal working fluids, including semi-synthetic and synthetic systems,
contributing good lubricity and EP properties as well as oil emulsification properties for
semi-synthetic fluids. The recommended use level for 3414 will depend on the specific
formulation, but as a general rule will be in the range of 2-5% for most metalworking
applications.
Cola®Lube 3415 - This product is a high molecular weight polyglycol diester based on
oleic acid and polyethylene glycol 400. The high molecular weight contributes to
outstanding lubrication and EP properties as well as thermal stability. In addition, low
HLB emulsification properties are an added plus. Its complete solubility in paraffinic and
naphthenic oils at the recommended use level of 2-5% suggests its suitability in soluble
oil or semi-synthetic metalworking fluids.
Cola®Lube 3416 - 3416 is a glycerol monoester of oleic acid. Because of its unique
combination of properties, it is a key ingredient in a wide variety of metalworking
formulations. In addition to providing out standing low HLB emulsification properties,
3416 has also been found to improve the stability of emulsion systems during fluctuating

storage conditions. Additionally, it will improve the rust protection of most metalworking
fluids, while enhancing their overall lubrication properties. 2-10% is the recommended
use level.
Cola®Lube 3417 -This polyglycol diester is produced from tall oil fatty acid and
polyethylene glycol 400. These lower cost building blocks will help the formulator control
the cost of soluble oils and semi-synthetic metalworking fluids formulated with this
product. Said products will have very good lubrication and EP properties. At the
recommended use level of 2-5%, good low HLB oil emulsification will also be noted.
Cola®Lube 3418 - This product is a soluble oil base designed to emulsify low viscosity
naphthenic and paraffinic oils in the viscosity range of 70 to 300 SUS @ 100° F. 3418 is
a balanced formulation of high molecular weight sodium sulfonates with auxiliary
emulsifiers and coupling agents to give outstanding emulsification, low foam, and
excellent rust protection in both hard and soft water.
