 CLEAR PRESENCE

Alcohol or drugs put your mind far away

To God’s dismay

He needs your clear presence

To fellowship with you

You need His love, too

As a father loves a child

You are not on your own

With Christ, your heart is his home

There is no sin remover at Wal-Mart

For crimson stains inside a heart

Salvation will make you feel fresh and clean

Never alone, with a companion not seen

 DEAD TO SIN

Hold up your chin

Sin can’t hem you in

Accept Jesus as your Savior to be:

Dead to sin

Alive to Christ

Most of the time

You won’t sin or commit a crime

We have a choice to sin or not

Christians are not Righteous Robots

Jesus paid our debt, Death was the price

To give us Eternal Life

Heaven is yours for free

Jesus does not charge a fee

Choose today where eternally you will stay

Life’s last breath, could it be today?

 GOD IS FOR YOU

When Life gets you down

You don’t know what to do
Remember, God is for you
Don’t think you’re too short or tall
God doesn’t make mistakes
You are an original creation, not a fake
No matter what you look like
Or what you feel inside
God is for you
Whether you’re short, tall
Little or big
He gets who you are
You, he really digs
To be forgiven of sin
Open your heart
Let Jesus in

 GOD LOVES YOU

Let God be your guide

He will keep you safe and sound

There is no Robin Hood to rescue you

God will see you through

In all that you do

When you feel blue

Who can you call on?

God, He loves you

He is always there

He always cares

He is never through with you

God loves who?

You, You

 GOD’S TOUCH

So many injustices and problems in this world

From the government to the pulpit
Some people are corrupt
Drugs, alcohol, illicit sex
The Devil’s Hex
Give Satan an inch, he will take a mile
Do wrong and make him smile
Slick Rick has your pick of evil to do
When the deed is done, he has more for you
To make a change in the world today
Take the time to kneel and pray
Picketing and rioting won’t accomplish much
This old world needs God’s touch
With supernatural power upon you
God has much he wants you to do
Don’t close out God
Let him in
To loose your desire to sin

 JESUS IS REAL

No matter how I feel

Jesus, to me is very real

The Lord’s got a hold on me

Belonging to him, brings to my heart glee

Got some sin to loose?

Salvation, you must choose

Jesus died to set his “loved ones” free

Let Jesus bury your sins as deep as the sea

You can begin life anew

The Holy Spirit’s presence will

never leave you

 LET JESUS IN

Dirty with sin?

Let Jesus in

He will change you within

A new, clean heart

A fresh start

Salvation through Christ

He paid the final price

Heaven is a cool place

Jesus has got you a space

Just repent of your sins

Accept heavenly love from above

Deal is done, when we accept God’s

son

 LOVE ONE ANOTHER

Many of God’s creations have gone astray

Will you return to him today?
Laden down with sin
You don’t feel clean within
Jesus can pierce a cold heart, like a dart
He can infuse it with love
Our Heavenly Father looks down from above
With such tender love
Maybe raindrops are His tears
Let Him have all your fears
God has a special touch
He Loves You
You need him so much
Let God have you
When He is through
You will be right with Him
No need to sin
Please Love others
Not just your sisters and brothers

 NEW LIFE

Want your life to change?

Every day seems like the one before

Life is such a bore

Want to have fun?

You can, when you accept God’s only Son

His life unseen, will make your life gleam

Like a glistening reed in a pond

With Salvation, you will never have a closer bond

Your lifestyle should reflect a change of heart

Give up those bad habits; Ready to start?

Pray and fast to get results that last

Jesus wants to set us free from addictions

Believe me, this is not fiction

 PRINCE OF THE AIR

Influence the world for good or bad

TV and movies do both
Being a couch potato produces no mental growth
Too many crimes on TV today
Murder and crime is the Devil’s way
Don’t be in the Devil’s Club
The Prince of the Air is called Beelzebub
The Devil has an everlasting flame
For every shameful thing done in his name
It seems as if an R is a now a P.G.
As bad as some movies are, they should be free
Nice people playing evil parts
They say they’re stretching they’re range
Therefore, they play someone deranged
Walt Disney would roll over in his grave
If he knew, how movies are now so depraved
Movies should promote everything good
Go only to clean movies; you know you should

 SPIRITUAL FOOD

On God’s word please feed

This nourishment you really need

The Bible is spiritual food

Read it to get in a better mood

Scripture is heaven sent

God’s word is a love letter

With Jesus, Life gets better and better

 SURRENDER TO CHRIST

Surrender to Christ, there is no better deal

If you have a wounded heart, God will heal

Forgiving us of our sin is his specialty

This Service is done for free

A new creation of God you can be

Salvation is a makeover of the heart

God transforms you into his work of art

Looking for Love in all the wrong places?

Jesus can fill up those empty spaces

In your heart, a holy spirit can live

Unending love, a heavenly father has to give

 TENDER LOVING CARE

To others please show concern

They are more important than a pet or fern
People appreciate kind gestures
A smile, call or handshake
These things cannot be faked
Be a Hero and do a kind deed
Giving to others is planting a good seed
Everyone needs tender, loving, care
A lack of hugs is hard to bear
Nothing in this world can do
What these words can:
“I Love You”
An old fashioned visit
A thing of the past
Will computer and cell-phone relationships last?
Loving others creates a universal bond
Doing a kind deed makes others fond
We all need tender, loving, care
Without it, life is like a nightmare

 THE EYES OF THE LORD

Be modest in all that you do

The eyes of the Lord are upon you

God sees and knows all

Some people are depressed, others; having a ball

Jesus knows you through and through

That’s why he loves you

On the cross Christ died

Our sins covered, as they ripped his holy hide

His loving eyes scan the earth

Looking for those who want a “New Birth”

Christ’s Love is so great

Accept him now, why wait?

 THE GIFT

Jesus died and rose from a tomb

His love can reach you in any room

If you accept His free gift

Your sins He will sift

God’s love is true

He will never leave you

He will take you to the Pearly Gate

Accept him now, before it’s too late

Hell is a final fate

Heaven is worth more than the entire Earth

Salvation is a “New Birth”

Repent of your sins, without delay

Let Jesus love you through each day

 THE MAN UPSTAIRS

Jesus is your high priest

Before Him your sins are laid bare

On bended knee, if you pray

Jesus will help you without delay

The Man Upstairs listens to every need

He wants to solve your problems, indeed!

God almighty was born

To give you reform

Died on the Cross

Let Him be your Boss

If Jesus is the one you serve

People in authority, get the respect they deserve

Treat others like you want to be treated

Obey the Golden Rule

To keep from being a fool

 THE SACRIFICE

The cross was heavy

The crown had many a thorn
Without this sacrifice
We could not be reborn
New life you may have this day
If you turn from your worldly ways
Jesus is the answer for your every woe
On your team against every foe
If you need a miracle today
Get on your knees and pray
There will be no delay
Salvation takes a second
All God’s other work in a person’s life
Is done in his own sweet time
He can start or stop on a dime
God’s presence will be with you
Each moment, each day, each year
He will wipe away every tear
Each saved person is like a newborn babe
A precious life that is brand new
Each redeemed day live as if the past is brand new, too

THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME

Life is no problem
You think you got it all together
You do whatever
And never say, “Never!”
You take no thought for others
Your sisters or brothers
Without faith in Christ
Life is like throwing dice
Win or loose, you’re on your own
I would not condone
Trying to make it alone
With Christ, you will have a home
His presence inside your heart
Beats any day at K-Mart
With him, you will get it together
You will make it in any kind of weather
Never alone, No place like home

 TRUE LIBERTY

Gods’ love for thee

Is as big as the sea

He knows you all by name

Loves us all the same

God created us to be like him

Without salvation; helpless against sin

The Statue of Liberty in New York City

To some seems strange, to others pretty

No government, statue or state

Can set us free, from our final fate

Heaven or Hell awaits us all

Choose your destination and do not stall

Jesus can break our bondage to sin

Just let him in

A Christian has “True Liberty”

Sins forgiven, loved, set free

 WATER OF LIFE

Beware and never dare

To drink and drive

It just doesn’t jive

Alcohol and drugs don’t mix

Accept Christ, and still get your kicks

Have clean fun, with Christ, God’s son

Spiritual life is within your soul

Doing drugs can take its toll

Drink the water of life

In it, there is not strife

Someone would not start a fight with you

If they had a glass of water or two

Please don’t drink and drive a Volkswagen Bug

Hand your keys to a friend, you might get a hug

Drinking and driving has a tragic fate

Accept Christ now, to enter the pearly gate

 A Word from the Author

My poems are God-inspired, shedding light on opposing spiritual powers in

our world. I hope to stir up feeling of love, acceptance and a deep need for a
relationship with Jesus. Most of my poetry is about Jesus and His love for
us. However, we should not be unaware of Satan’s power at work to keep us
in bondage and destroy one’s desire to receive him as Savior. Jesus came to
set us free from addictions and give us Abundant Life (the Fruits of the
Spirit, which are: Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness,
Gentleness and Self-Control) now and Eternal Life in Heaven. Each poem is
unique and may or may not apply to you personally. The poem, God Loves
You was published in The Sound of Poetry (poetry on cassette) by the
National Library of Poetry in 1999.
