TODAY Welcome! This morning, Pastor Steve continues his sermon series called Songs for the Journey The Psalms of Ascent (120-134). In the evening, Pastoral Intern, Micah Shin, continues a series from the book of Second Peter called Growing in Grace. In the evening service, we also observe the Lords Supper. The centers purpose is to minister the Word of God to those in need of direction and change in their lives; to present the sufficiency of Christ as a practical answer to the daily problems of life and to train others how to minister Gods Word in a counseling setting. PASTOR APPRECIATION Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding. Jeremiah 3:15. Today, in gratitude to God and to Cedars pastors for their leading in the life of Cedar, we publicly recognize the six pastors the Lord has granted to Cedar - Pastors Steve Igo, Mick Knierim, Chris Post, Ken Smith, Larry Johnson, and Pastoral Intern Micah Shin. Take time today to thank them for their ministry to Cedar and beyond. To God be the glory!

ANNOUNCEMENTS Ministry of Caring The Masons and the Colemans are in need of meals as they deal with health issues in their families. The Colemans also need someone to come in the afternoon and evening, helping the kids with homework, getting the dinner in the oven and putting kids to bed. If you are available to help with any of these needs, please see Ingrid Entingh. 2014 Budget Process During the month of October, the Cedar Deacons will be preparing a draft Church Budget to distribute to the congregation in the month of November. Please see a deacon if you have any suggested line items for the first draft of the budget. Hagerty/Entingh Wedding - All are invited to help Todd & Meagan celebrate a new chapter in their lives. Please join them at 7 p.m., this Friday, October 18, at Harvest OPC as they exchange their vows and become Mr. & Mrs. Todd Entingh. Womens Conference 2013 God has called women to be sweet and salty! How? To find out, come join us at this year's Women's Bible Conference on October 25-26 at Harvest OPC. Speaker Mary Beeke will share her thoughts on how we can become God's kind of woman. See Corrie Post to sign up today! Care Packages for Our College Students On October 30, the Cedar Girls Club will once again be packing up goodies for our college students. Please help the girls let our college students know Cedar is thinking about them by donating items to fill the care packages. Items can be placed in the box in the hallway. Questions? COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS Basketball Coach Needed - Zion Christian School is looking for two basketball coaches: one for its boys JV basketball team and another for one of the boys junior high teams. Please contact Athletic Director Joel Bont at jbont@zionchristian.net if you are interested. Zion's Fall Auction - We hope to see many of you at Zion's Fall Auction on Saturday, October 19. The auction will feature many great items, including an iPad mini, a KitchenAid Mixer, an African Safari, tickets to the Detroit Lions, and a few fun surprises! The evening includes silent and live auctions, as well as a delicious meal. Blood Drive - Consider giving the gift of life by donating blood. Jamestown Christian Reformed Church at 1653 Riley St., Hudsonville is holding a blood drive in their Activity Building on Monday, Oct. 14 from 3-7 PM. Volunteers Needed - Loves Treasures Resale Shoppe is looking for volunteers in prep, clothing and display. Morning and afternoon shifts are available and training is always provided. Hearing assist units are available from the soundmen located at the left side of the auditorium. Please feel free to ask for one. For the benefit of those who would like to hear the service while caring for a little one, we have a cry room equipped with speakers located in the Teachers Lounge across the hall from the gym. You are welcome to use this as needed. Bibles and hymnals are available on a cart at the back of the auditorium. If you are new to Cedar, please stop by our literature table in the foyer for more information about Cedar and a gift for you. If you need any assistance, please ask one of our greeters for help. SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE Cedar Church strives to enjoy God through Spirit-empowered and Christ-centered worship. The Bible is sincerely loved, and we hope that you will find it opened up to you in a fresh and faithful manner each Sunday. A NURSERY is available near the entrance of the gymnasium, but children are always welcome in the worship service.
