PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE SYMANTEC Inc. Culver City CA Senior Manager Development 2009-Present

Responsible for multiple development teams that provide AV and Malware protection for over 50 Million users worldwide through Symantecs Consumer (Norton) and Enterprise (SEP) products. SONAR leverages User and Kernel Mode components (C++) to provide real-time monitoring of system activity. Blocking unwanted (malware) as well as providing product tamper protection. Increased detections (> 2x) and reduced false positives (<< .1%). Heuristic detections utilizes machine learning to analyze static file attributes in order to create proactive detections (C++). Grew the number of blocking detections from a few thousand a month to over a million per month while maintaining very small false positive rates (<< .1%). Automated sample processing analyzes submitted sample files to determine if they were malware and create AV signatures for the core AV products (C#). Processed ~100K samples per day. Manage local team (8) of developers/analysts and remote teams in India (4) and China (6)

RAPID7 LLC Boston MA/El Segundo CA Vice President of Engineering
