This weekend marks just four weeks unl our 2013
Parish Pastoral Assembly, during which the Parish
community will be given the opportunity to consider
and review the dra Parish Pastoral Plan that is
currently being nalised by the Parish Pastoral
Council.

This day is an opportunity for the enre Parish

community to be involved in seng priories for the
coming two years that the Parish will then seek to
implement. As menoned last week the role of the
Pastoral Assembly is to approve, modify or reject the
draParishPastoralPlan,aprocessthatisbroughtto
fruionthroughquesons,dialogueanddiscernment.

Why Do We Need A Parish Pastoral Plan?

While it is true that the Church, as brought to reality
in the life of the local Parish, has only one mission
the constant proclamaon of the Good News of the
KingdomofGodthiswillalwayslookdierentfrom
placetoplace,dependinguponneedsthatarespecic
to those places. These needs will also change with
me.

ThisiswhyweneedaParishPastoralPlan.

TheParishPastoralPlanisnotthesameasthemission
oftheChurch.Itis,rather,thewayinwhichourParish
believesitisnecessaryandappropriatetoliveoutand
give voice to that never changing mission, here in
ForsterTuncurryduringthecomingtwoyears.

The nature of the Parish Pastoral Plan is not to be so

complex as to be impossible to implement, nor so
simple as to have no value. The number of priories
idened in each Parish Pastoral Plan will vary
depending upon the prevailing circumstances, but it
would generally include somewhere between three
andvespecicitems.

AlthoughtheprimaryfocusoftheParishPastoralPlan
is always outward and missionary in nature, this is
does not exclude inward looking priories being
idened and includedif they have the ulmate
purpose of assisng the Parish to engage in the
primarymissionofproclaimingtheGoodNews.

When Will We Know Whats In The Plan?

The Parish Pastoral Assembly would not be able to
achieve its purpose if the dra Parish Pastoral Plan
was only available on the day of the Assembly. That
wouldonlybeawasteofeveryaendeesme.

That is why the Parish Pastoral Plan is draed in

When we process forward to receive Communion,
