to identify and support opportunities to develop the highest quality reading and writing activity in the South West of England.
The Grassroots Literature Fund offers awards of between 50 and 500 designed to help communities get involved with reading and writing and celebrate the skills of our talented writers to support activity, particularly in areas where funds might be hard to find. We want people of all ages to have the best artistic experiences they can have in order to develop their abilities in all aspects of their lives. We also work to get more people involved in literature activities to ensure that communities are enriched and inspired by reading and writing experiences, particularly in areas where activity is not already happening. Our Grassroots Literature Fund is completely dependent on fundraising. We have funded small literature festivals, library and school visits, author visits, reader group activities and writing workshops all over the South West, and we aim to establish mutually beneficial relationships with our funded projects to encourage and sustain excellence.
