ADMISSION NOTICE FOR M.TECH.

Applications are invited for admission to the first semester of M.Tech Courses in the subjects
mentioned below under the faculty of Engineering & Technology, University of Calcutta for the
Academic Session 2009-2010. Final Year BE/ B.Tech Candidate may also apply.

Admission Notice for M.Tech courses under the Faculty of Engineering & Technology for the
session 2009-10

(A) 2 year( 4 Semester) M.Tech. Course in Computer Science & Engineering. In the Department
of Computer Science & Engineering

Eligibility: B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science / Computer Science & Engineering / Computer
Science & Technology, MCA (with B.Sc. Honours in Physics / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer
Science / Electronics Science ) or M.Sc in Computer & Information Science (with B.Sc. Honours
in Computer Science from University of Calcutta ) or equivalent degree in Computer Science from
other University.

(B) 2 year (4 Semester) M.Tech Course In the Department of Chemical Engineering

Eligibility: B.Tech. in Chemical engineering of University of Calcutta or equivalent degree from

other Universities, IIT’s & NIT’s duly approved by the AICTE.

(C) 2 year (4 Semester) M.Tech. Courses in

(i) Ceramic Engineering ,

(ii) Oil Technology ,
(iii) Petrochemical & Refinery Engineering ,
(iv) Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemical Technology in the Department of Chemical Technology.

Eligibility:

(i) For M.Tech. Course in Ceramic Engineering, the candidates should possess B.Tech. in
Chemical Technology of Calcutta University BE /B.Tech in Ceramic Technology /Chemical
Engineering / Metallurgical Engineering / Material Science and Technology from any recognized
Univ./ AICTE recognized Institution equivalent to C.U. B.Tech in Chemical Technology (Ceramic
Engineering).

(ii) For M.Tech. Course in Oil Technology B.Tech in Chemical Technology (Oil Technology) of
Calcutta University or BE/B.Tech Degree from any recognized Univ./ AICTE recognized Institution
equivalent to C.U. B.Tech in Chemical Technology (Oil Technology).

(iii) For M.Tech Course in Petrochemical & Petrolium Refinery Engg. B.Tech in Chemical
Technology (Petrochemical & Petrolium Refinery Engg) of Calcutta University or BE/B.Tech
Degree from any recognized Univ./ AICTE recognized Institution equivalent to C.U. B.Tech in
Chemical Technology (Petrochemical & Petrolium Refinery Engg).
(iv)For M.Tech Course in Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemical Technology, B.Tech in Chemical
Technology (Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemical Technology) of Calcutta University or BE/B.Tech
Degree from any recognized Univ./AICTE recognized Institution equivalent to C.U. B.Tech in
Chemical Technology (Pharmaceutical & Fine Chemical Technology).

(D) 2 year (4 Semester)M.Tech. Course. in the Department of Polymer Science & Technology.

Eligibility: B.E. /B.Tech in Polymer Science and Technology / Polymer engineering / Chemical
Engineering / Chemical Technology or equivalent from any recognized Univ./AICTE recognized
Institution.

Application Form will be available from the Calcutta University sales counter (87/1, College
Street, Kolkata 700 073) on all working days between 11A.M. to 3 P.M. on payment of Rupees
200/- and Rupees 100/- (for SC/ST/PH Candidates). Application forms may also be downloaded
from University website: www.caluniv.ac.in. Downloaded Form must accompany a demand draft
of Rs.200/ or Rs.100/- [for SC/ST/PH candidates] drawn in favour of “Calcutta University”,
payable at Kolkata or by Cash payable at University Cash Counter either at 87/1 , College Street,
Kolkata-700 073 or at Science College, 92, A.P.C.Road, Kolkata- 700 009 at the time of
submission of filled in application form. Application Form, duly filled in, should reach to the Office
of the Secretary, UCSTA,C.U.,92,A.P.C.Road, Kolkata- 700 009 on or before 25.06.2009.
