It can be serviced by virtually any type of forklift and is suitable for a wide range of pallet storing applications. Benets of Selective Pallet Racking include; Provision of high capacity storage. Pallets can be easily located, accessed and moved independently providing a rapid handling of goods. Easy installation as well as the exibility of adjustable beam heights to accommodate variable pallet heights. The selection of the correct castor for each application will ensure the best possible performance and durability. Consideration should be given to the wheel diameter, tyre and hub material as well as tting type. WHEEL DIAMETER - large wheel diameters are easier to push and negotiate larger obstacles. Conversely small diameter wheels are easily stopped from rolling when small obstructions are encountered. Essentially, a castor should possess a wheel diameter in excess of 125mm if the apparatus to which it is tted is moved often. TYRE & HUB MATERIAL - all tyres will suit one purpose better than another - see the chart below to determine which one you need. FITTING TYPE - there are a number of ttings available to match different purposes. Plates are best for higher loads and most extreme duty due to multiple xing points (4). Bolt Holes are an economical and quick method of attaching castors that will suit light to medium duty. Fitment is by means of a single bolt that closely approximates the bolt hole size. Expanding adaptors lend themselves well to light applications where tube steel is the main construction material. It offers an economical and quick attachment method. Downside is the need for regular tightening to ensure trouble free service.
