5 OMD000203 GSM BSC Auto Data Configuration

1.13 Course Objectives
Key knowledge Data Configuration of BSS Objectives Mastering Initial data configuration Mastering dynamic data configuration

1.14 References
Data Configuration Manual

1.15 Written Exercise

5.1.1 Judge the following
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Auto configuration file autocfg.dat is stored in BAM side under directory C:\OMC\BSC\BAM\dload\cfgdata Start OMC LocalWS in a WS, choose the IP address 127.0.0.1, and then you can modify the BAM data with auto data configuration console. No matter starting the auto data configuration console on OMC Shell or OMC LocalWS, system gets data configuration file from BAM via FTP. And when setting the data into the host, it also adopts FTP. Under the grant of advanced user, a user gets the ordinary user password and then he can perform initial data configuration and dynamic data configuration. After transferring over initial configuration console, we can use dynamic configuration console to set the data into BSC hosts. If the auto data configuration consoles version is higher than the version of configuration file autocfg.dat , it can run normally. If the auto data configuration consoles version is lower than the version of configuration file autocfg.dat , it will prompt unknown object and cannot run. There are two correct ways to exit auto configuration console: one is to close the auto configuration console and then close the OMC Shell or OMC LocalWS; the other is to close OMC Shell or OMC LocalWS and then close the auto configuration console. Choosing multi-module device in initial configuration console when configuring the device type, the module number should be configured according to the practical situation and the range is up to 8. Setting the device type in initial configuration console, if you swap the device type between single-module and multi-module, the existing data will be lost. So, for the data safety, such operation is recoverable. In initial configuration console, the even numbered the E3M must correspond to the TCSM units in even numbered frame, otherwise the TCSM units cannot work. In initial configuration console, you can add BTS by double-click on any BIE in the BIE active/standby group. When modifying the cells channel type, if the cell is hopping, we need to

modify it to a not hopping cell in advance. And after modifying we should recover it to hopping cell. If you modify the frequency of BCCH TRX, the cell needs initialization. If you delete a site in auto data configuration console, all the cells and the TRXs are deleted. If there is cascaded site under the site to be deleted, it will also be deleted. In initial configuration console, we can only delete modules from the last one. In routine maintenance, if data transfer is performed, then it is mandatory to convert BAM data and reset BSC to load data.

5.1.2 Fill in the blanks

18 The data for BSC system is stored in ___________________________, and the program is stored in _____________in BAM.

5.1.3 Single-choice
19 Signaling point code length of BSC are ____digits. A) 24 B) 14 C) 8 D) 16 20 The link ID of LPN7 board is: A) 0~7 B) 4~7 C) 8~11 D) 4~11 21 Both initial configuration console and dynamic configuration console can backup auto configuration file autocfg.dat in FTP server. The FTP sever is located in A) OMC SERVER B) BAM C) The terminal where the configuration console is started D) BSC hosts 22 If the FTP Server is not started, there is not an icon of FTP Server. You can run Ftps.exe to restart the FTP Server. The file Ftps.exe is stored in: ( ) A) \\BAM\C:\OMC\BSC\BAM\dload B) \\BAM\C:\OMC\SHELL C) \\BAM\C:\OMC\BSC\BAM D) \\BAM\C:\OMC\BAMLog 23 Each time we perform batch modify cells network parameter, we can only select the cell parameters using the same command word. And the quantity of the cells to be modified should not exceed: A) 6 B) 10 C) 16 D) 20 24 In a multi-module BSC, how many CCS7 links does an E3M support at most? A) 1 B) 2 C) 4 D) 8 25 Sometimes it appears Fail to get data from FTP server. And auto data configuration system will exit. as you start auto configuration console. Which of the following will not cause this problem. A) FTP SERVER not started B) Pure network quality C) There is no autocfg.dat file in BAM D) Version mismatch

A) The edit lock function is adopted to avoid multiple WSs modifying as that can cause DBF data out of order B) The advanced user can obtain the edit lock authority C) When a user obtained the edit lock authority, others can only enter data viewing mode D) If the WS with the edit lock authority exit auto configuration console abnormally, we must start auto configuration console again and exit correctly to unlock BAM 28 Which of the following can cause effect to current calls? C) Modify cells BCC and NCC D) Modify cells property E) Modify cells FH property F) Modify cells CGI G) Modify cells system information 29 BSC auto data configuration console has ( ) work mode A) Initial configuration B) Dynamic configuration C) Data management D) Data viewing
