Thumbs Up

Welcome
We would like to say a big hello and welcome to Amelia Darbyshire and Joshua Oxtoby who have recently started in Out of School . Joshua started at the beginning of the term and has already enjoyed making hot air balloons, kites and lots of lego and drawings. Amelia started this week and it seems as though she has been apart of the club for ages.

My Best Thing...
I love to do what ever I want in the club especially Lego. From Benjamin I love making models and playing outside and playing with my friends. From Brandon I am a really creative person and I just love to draw and make things with my friends all the time. From Rubie-Mae Afterschool is just like being at home it is warm, comfortable and Mrs. Glew and Mrs. Freeman are lovely. From Elise

Drop Off Club

Just a quick update, we started drop off club in September as a way of helping parents with an additional form of childcare. We are open from 8.15 in the morning at a small cost of 3.00 per session. This hopefully allows you a little more time to get to work or other children to their childcare settings. We have, at present, a few children who use us regularly each week and I know this has been an invaluable service to those parents. We are open every morning from 8.15 so if you would like to take advantage of this service feel free to pop in. Tracy Glew

Cat Walk
It was a cold wet evening and we were in afterschool club, we were wondering what to do, after chatting to Alex, Ryan and Rubie we decided to dress up in the things from the dressing up box. This was really funny as most of the clothes were for class 1 and class 2 so they were on the small side. We started dressing up in Spiderman costumes, fairy tutus and princess dresses, the girls dressed as pirates and in waistcoats and ties- it was hilarious! We then decided to have a catwalk: we made a walk way down the centre of the room using pillows/cushions and we played some music on the cd player . Mrs. Glew recorded it for us on the flip camera. It was really fun to do and even more hilarious to watch back. Afterschool club is great. By Harry.

Hot air Balloons

We have been making hot air balloons in Afterschool club on a Tuesday. First we stuck tissue paper to a balloon with pva glue and then when it was dry we then added another layer. We did this several times and it got harder and tougher to make a shell. While the papermache was drying, we made a basket out of craft straws by weaving them. It was really difficult to do, but it looked great when it was finished. When it was all dry we put it together and Mrs Glew put them up on the ceiling to make a 3d display. By Benjamin and Brandon

Pirates
Wow! Mrs Glew made us a pirate ship. We made hats and a treasure map. We walked the plank it was great. I was the pirate captain as I was the only boy. Thank you Mrs Glew By Oliver G
