WORLD MISSION SUNDAY On this World Mission Sunday, 20 th October, the Pope asks Catholics all over the world to join together at Mass to pray, celebrate and care for the whole family of the Church. Through Missio, your prayers and donations will support the work of missionaries and the young Churches as they build schools, provide healthcare and share faith, often in difficult and dangerous circumstances, so that all may know Gods love and live a life of dignity. The money collected will go in its entirety to support mission projects worldwide. There will be a retiring collection THIS WEEKEND to support their work. If you wish to Gift Aid your donation there are some envelopes available in the Church porches. PARISH MASS COUNT Week Three of the annual count will be carried out over this weekend. Morning Prayer is prayed before every weekday Mass and the Rosary is prayed after Mass: all are welcome to join us.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2014 If your child is in Year 3, and you wish your child to receive their First Holy Communion in May 2014, you will need to enrol them on the First Holy Communion programme. The First Holy Communion classes will begin in January 2014 and will be held at St Andrews on Saturday mornings. The second enrolment date will be on Wednesday, 23rd October between 6.00pm and 7.00pm. It will be held in the Sacristy at Our Lady of Peace Church. Parents will need to complete an enrolment form which will be available on the enrolment date. You will also need to bring with you a copy of the childs Baptism certificate: if you cannot find it, you will need to contact the Parish where your child was Baptised and obtain it before the enrolment meeting. BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE As in previous years, the Book of Remembrance will be kept in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel during November. HOLY SOULS ENVELOPES These are now available in the Church porches. Please write the names of your dear ones and put in the envelope with your offering. The envelopes can be returned with the usual collection or put them through the letter box at the Presbytery. Your dear ones will be remembered at all the Masses for the Holy Souls offered during November. COME AND SEE Are you thinking of becoming a Catholic? A new course for anyone thinking of joining the Catholic Church has started, it will run on Thursdays, from 7.30pm-8.45pm in the Presbytery. Please contact Fr Andy for more information either after Mass or on 01628 605764. SCHOOL OF MARY Our Lady of Peace Church is running a course on the School of Mary led by Jean Khoury, BS, MA. Teachings include 3 segments: Initiation into Spirituality, Praying with Scripture and Hearing the Voice of God starting on Monday, 21st October from 7.00pm to 9:30 pm. Each segment is 6 lessons and costs 10 per lesson. Come, learn and experience a personal relationship with Jesus, deep purification and transformation in Christ and new maturity. ST VINCENT DE PAUL AND THE CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE The SVP and the Catholic Womens League invite you to a celebration of Holy Mass with the sacramental anointing of the sick at St Andrews on Saturday, 26 th October at 3.00pm. READERS We invite all Readers to renew their commitment to this special ministry next weekend of 26th -27th October which is Bible Sunday. The renewal of commitment will take place prior to the First Reading at each Mass. There is also a selection of bowls which were left behind after the Parish Party, these are at the back of the Church. BIBLE STUDY GROUP meet on Wednesday evenings at 7.45pm in the Sacristy. We are currently alternating our Bible Study with Faith Exploration DVDs on a weekly basis. We are exploring the Creed in a series called Believe. All are welcome.
