BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES

Raquel D. Gutiérrez
ONE TREE MANY SEEDS CONSULTING, LLC

My passion is strengthening the lifetime efforts of leaders working for inclusive and
sustainable social change. Expertise includes assisting individuals and organizations
in attaining coherency between the values and actions that realize social justice.

Raquel Gutiérrez is a private consultant specializing in leadership development and transformation of

organizational culture. For over twenty years she has dedicated herself to working with individuals and
organizations that have the courage to improve their quality of life and better serve others.

Gutiérrez purposefully uses a cross-discipline approach based in the core values of personal transformation,
continual learning, daily practice, and life-affirming leadership. Among
her peers, she is recognized for being a masterful facilitator, freely sharing
resources, building relationships between groups unfamiliar to one
another, partnering with trusted and resourceful associates, challenging
people to explore possibilities outside their routine paradigms, and her
ability to translate theories into every day practice. Gutiérrez's strong
technical background, practical management experience, outstanding
communication skills, commitment to continual learning, and love of
teaching have helped her develop innovative and resourceful approaches to her work so that people she serves
may live meaningful, balanced, and fulfilled lives.

Gutiérrez, the fourth daughter of Gustavo and Raquel Consuelo Gutierrez, was born and raised in Tempe,
Arizona. She is a graduate of Arizona State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 1988. In
1994, Gutiérrez moved to Washington D.C. where she attained a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from
Georgetown University. Her master's thesis focused on the role of myths and traditions in Chicano culture. She
graduated in August 2008 with a Ph.D. in Leadership and Change from Antioch University, where her award
winning dissertation explored the alignment between the values, beliefs, and practices of social justice workers.
She is most recently a recipient of the Innovative ETD Award from the National Networked Digital Library of
Theses and Dissertations Award for media-enhanced dissertation and the Outstanding Scholarship Award, from
the Ohio Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Association. To learn more about her work regarding life-affirming
