This conference is coordinated annually by the Alzheimers Association Greater Wisconsin Chapter. Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimers disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Viki Kind, MA
Los Angeles, CA Viki Kind is a clinical bioethicist, medical educator and hospice volunteer. Her award-winning book, The Caregivers Path to Compassionate Decision Making: Making Choices For Those Who Can't, guides families and professionals through the difficult process of making decisions for those who have lost capacity. She has lectured across the United States teaching healthcare professionals to have integrity, compassion and to improve end-of-life care through better communication. Viki provides bioethics consultation and support for many hospitals in the Los Angeles area. She holds a masters degree in bioethics from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Charlene Smith, RN, is a retired nurse having spent

20 years with Milwaukee County Services as a psychiatric nurse. Charlene is an enrolled tribal member/citizen of the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin.

Christopher Koeppl, M.D.

Christopher Koeppl is a physician with Ministry Medical Group in Rhinelander specializing in internal medicine and providing comprehensive assessment of complex medical problems. In 1998, Dr. Koeppl was responsible for establishing the Northern Wisconsin Memory Diagnostic Clinic in Rhinelander. This was one of the first Memory Diagnostic Centers in Wisconsin. He continues to see patients at the memory clinic each month.
