Welcome to the University of Derby Students Union Freshers Events Guide 2012!
This is your guide to the official Derby Freshers Fortnight which is set to be one of the most action packed and fun filled fortnight of your life...
We hope youre all looking forward to starting your time at the University of Derby and were here to help you along the way. Here at the University of Derby Students Union weve been working hard to put together a series of events and activities that will help you to settle into your new surroundings, make new friends and have a fantastic time.
We have organised 70 different activities taking place in just 15 days. This means that there will be something for everyone; from trips to Alton Towers and Chatsworth House right the way through to comedy and open mic nights. Theres plenty for you to do and see every day, so prepare yourself for a busy two weeks, get stuck in and make the most of it - you are only a Fresher once! Many of the events weve organised for you are free and others are heavily subsidised allowing you to save as much money as possible. You can also make a massive saving by purchasing a Freshers Fortnight Wristband for just 30. This gives you free entry to some of the biggest events including the Westfield Student Lockdown, Freshers Party and UV Party. To purchase your wristband, book tickets and to find out more about each event go to www.udsu.co.uk/derbyfreshers. Wed also like to use this Events Guide as an opportunity to introduce you to your Students Union. Well also introduce you to your Officer Trustees who will be representing you this year, as well as providing some information on how you can get involved and keep in touch with us throughout your time at University. For more in-depth information about your Students Union, look out for the Freshers Guide which you will receive when you arrive here in Derby. So read on and start planning your Freshers Fortnight now. Love, Your Students Union
